Tomlinson would be handy here in my opinion
It's time we backed in our drafting, and we stop trading in bog ordinary players. With our pathetic coaching staff, we aren't winning anything until Bevo's contract is up....so let's draft and develop our own!

I’ve heard that Sam Power has been talks with Matthew Bate’s manager

About Matty Bate….

I was out clubbing with Matty and his best mate (work colleague), they both said that he was going to be at the dogs the following year. It was about to be trade week.

I posted that Matty Bate to Bulldogs link on Bigfooty….

We tried I think. My bad memory says we offered a top 20 pick and it was knocked back

Edit: My memory was bad. Offered pick 39 and was knocked back

Tomlison probably the worst option but he did well after the first quarter except that mark by acres who played the best game of his life. BZT and Ratuglea would have shit themselves in that game and they're getting offers. Still hoping dogs don't get him though.

Acres is an example of smart recruiting for a specific role. This is what the Dogs lack.

We do not get players to play a role and know their position on the ground and how to play it.

Confusion reigns at the Kennel

And what we’d do for guys like hewett and Newman

He does so many dumb things, especially with his decision making when kicking, that he would make you pull your hair out as a fan.

I do completely agree though. Big bodied wing, who runs super hard both ways, a very good pick up by the Blies for basically nothing. We could definitely use a player like him.

It's one of my biggest gripes with the club, our ability to turn good players into average Jack of All's.

I'm no list manager or anything, but in my time in the ADF, when I was putting my team together, I didn't just get the best soldiers, I got members that had strengths which could fill roles within the team, and whose weaknesses were covered by the strengths of others.

I made sure my team worked on their weaknesses, those who weren't great on the radios learned from those who were. Those who struggled with our bread and butter kit, worked on it with the jets. Those with shit field craft, worked on it with those who lived and breathed that shit. At the end of the day however, my teams ran like clockwork because I had my bases covered with an SME. They all made me look like a decent leader because I let them excel at what they did best and tried to cover their shortcomings.

I think this team would experience physical pain though, if it came to player selection and they didn't take the "best available" or trade in these players they can throw around. Then, at the end, try and fill holes. It seems the arse about way to do things.

Players like Acres, Allir Allir, Langdon etc were all players we should've targeted to fill specific needs and we could've done it if we didn't hold onto 150 quality midfielders.
Bont, Macrae, Smith, Ads, Dunks, West, McLean, Garcia etc either shouldn't have been brought in, or, as with Smith, someone should've been traded to get him in I the midfield. We are so unbalanced it's ridiculous.
