Wouldn't think they'd throw him to the wolves this time of year. Any other game, probably. But I'd rather he focus on breaking into the team early next year.

He's not ready for a Prelim. Played one senior game this year against a team we were always going to smash. Laid some great tackles. He's not coming in for Adams.

Macrae’s played 2 quarters of senior footy all year, he doesn’t play the same role as Adams, with Naicos to return it means we need to find someone to drop, we have midfield cover for Adams within the 23 and Noble is going to be the next man in so we’d really need 3 changes to find room for Macrae (plus I’d prefer Allan anyway).

Yeah, he's been a good choice. But there is always a component of luck to all decisions -- by definition, that's what a decision really is, a combination of skill, knowledge and luck.

Looking at our weaknesses, injury risks and depth issues at the end of 2022 there is no question we nailed it.

Inside mid adams and jdg are always injury risks and pendles and Sidey a year older. . Pick up a Brownlow medallist on the cheap as steak knives after losing henry
Key defence. Pick up frampton who can also ruck replacing depth lost from grundy leaving
Small forward. Needed electric pace. Hill.
Key forward. Need a bullocker to help . Mcstay

And picked up a pacy Russian at the last
Minute. Maybe that was luck, he could be a Carlton player right now but the rest were inspired picks. No luck involved.

From Memory he missed out last two games which were dead rubbers really and then we had the finals bye. Hard to know how long he would have been out tbh. He was also running usually means a higher grade

And Fly had said he was probably right to go in the last game he missed, definitely would have played if that game was just a day later or a do or die match .. and then we had the bye which is included in the 27 days.

If Tay is a declared out, that place is taken by Nick. Does Macrae come in as a possibility for sub? That would be tough on Ginnivan, but in finals the toughest of calls need to be made. Both Port and GWS have strong midfields
