Nah. Not the way they do it with set shots - it's not a contorted snap from a pack.There always a higher risk of not flushing a snap then a drop punt from distance. It just wasn’t a percentage play.
From close in the snaps are higher percentage because you've got a bigger area of the ball you can strike for it to still go straight enough to be a goal - that bigger area gradually shrinks as you get further away from goal. From that range you'd have to computer simulate it to know when it becomes lower percentage.
