Either are are being unimaginative as **** or we are being really shrewd negotiators. That’s 3 now - Tomlinson, Spargo and Harmes we have heard this for.

I find it quite bizarre as we haven’t seen other clubs doing this.

It's not bizarre at all.

Hibberd, Jordon, Grundy, Dunstan, D.Smith already as good as gone. Brown, Harmes & Tomlinson chances to be gone too (plus Melksham will be missing most of the year). We've got McAdam as our only likely mature recruit at this stage, so the last thing the club would want from a list perspective is to lose more mature depth than we can replace. This is why Tomlinson, Spargo and Harmes are being kept as options to be held to their contracts.

And if you're seriously saying no other club has said contracted players will be staying then not sure you've been paying attention.

There is more to forward play than how far you can kick at goal. Lets fill the entire team with guys who can kick 50m and cant hit a target why dont we

It's all about team balance isn't it. We already have players who can't get within fifteen metres of a target, a couple who can somehow miss their foot when dropping the ball, and one or two who seem to be allergic of it altogether. A player who can't kick over 20m is a luxury.
