Except for weed. Can show in a piss test for up to a month! Ironic as it's the one of least concern and certainly not performance enhancing lol. Should just stop testing for weed IMO. Or at least test politicians and police too...
Speaking of which I wonder how many AFL players are on the books of Trade Radio's latest advertising partner - Alternaleaf. Presumably this would get you off as a prescribed medication.

Re Coffield: He returned to playing late in the VFL season. Played last 4 games for Sandringham. Averaged 23 Disposals, 5.8 Marks and 1.3 Tackles. Nothing outstanding but understandable after such a long layoff. If he's over past injuries, he could be a handy acquisition. Unsure how big that "if" is.

Cornes is hilarious. Said how bad our 8 year deal (essentially 9 years) was and in the same breath said how good Sydney were for offering 10 and that now it'll make Jamarra easier to pry out.
Cornes used to be a fireman.

Now he's makes a living lighting fires...

He flip flops and ties himself in knots and contradicts himself so often he must have a permanent headache, but hey, that's the Hutchy business model. Facts and credibility irrelevant as long as you get clicks.

My overall hopes next year based on the development of players

Is that Buss and Darcy pushing Keath and Lobb out of the side

With a full pre-season under their belts, i hope by round 12 they are a lock in

Does anyone have any insight into whether the Buss is happy / somewhat settled in Melbourne?

Crickets on contract extension talk which is a little worrying...

And in doing so give ourselves an extra year to turn around both his form and desire to stay at the Bulldogs (assuming he currently really is thinking about leaving). No brainer.
Or it exposes him to a role that he's not really suited to, thus bringing on a case of the shits and a trade to Geelong.

The media are so ******* stupid, you’d think we’re the first club to have a star player on a big contract. It’s going to blow our cap out we’re going to lose English & Marra. But Hipwood & Blakey on 8 year contracts no stress, Brennan *ing Cox nah no stress. Naughty, genuine star forward at 23yo - what a disaster for the club
I've actually been amazed the last few days of how underrated Naughton is. People online are talking about him like we just offered some third tall roleplayer this contract. Then you get guys like Corn having Mitch Lewis in front of him and Cooney saying JUH is more consistent than him based on this year. I love JUH as much as anybody but in what world did he have a better than Naughton.

You get so much hyperbole both ways this time of year.

Don't forget Harrison Himmelberg as well, he just got a six year deal and he will be 28 start of next season. Hasn't been a peek about that one. Any list manager with half a brain would perfer Naughton for 8 than HH or Cox for 6.

West Coast came knocking earlier in the year which he knocked back

Pretty sure he's settled in Melbourne, spends a lot of time with the younger players

What gets me is that because the media is such a circle jerk, you have the likes of Clickbait Corn on his hypocrisy high horse, Barrett and Cooney (both have well known grudges against the Dogs) giving us the confused faces (mentioning nothing about the 10 year deals being offered elsewhere) and then actively trying to prize out JUH and or English.

Trade Radio and Hutchy's farm of squawking battery hens are like a pimple on the backside of football.

Definitely. Worth the risk in my opinion, with the alternative that we lose him now anyway.
We can't appease a player by playing him in a role that he's not that great at, just so as to lessen the risk of him leaving.

If him staying is conditional on playing a role of his choosing them I would suggest that he's half way out the door already.

If rumours are true, he doesn't really like the role, but his best exposed form was playing as a hard running high half forward.

I dont think there is anything to the rumours. But Ive been wrong so many times that it should be a meme.

On trade radio they're saying the dogs should trade for pick 1.

Eagles: English, pick 4
Suns: 10, 17, 19
Dogs: Pick 1

🤢🤢🤢
So, after letting go of our back-up we'd then proceed give up the only ready to go ruckman that we have for a mid?

Do they even think these things through as they sit in a studio playing their phantasy games of trade RISK.

Every year we seem to figure highly in the brain farts that these clowns use as an excuse to stink up they airtime.

No they don't. Cooneys offering was
Cats: B.Smith
Eagles: English, 7
Dogs: 1

Not sure how these guys get the gig.

They've sacrificed their credibility(such as it is in the case of Cooney) on the alta of content and a fat mans ever expanding ego.

Im glad that guys like you are listening to trade radio so that I don't have to.

Im currently bed ridden with the flu and would rather stare at the ceiling for 8 hours a day.

Just wondering whether previous long term deals for players like Oliver and McKay attracted the type of negative press that Astro’s signing has attracted. Or was there back-slapping all round, and hearty congratulations that a gun player should be so committed to their own club?

This just reinforces my instinct to ignore the current iteration of the football media in good times and in bad. The bandwagon jumping when we won the 2016 flag actually made my stomach churn. The parasites taking vicarious pleasure in our successes are the same parasites who kick the crap out of us in the media most other times. When (not if) we win another flag with this team, the collective media can get stuffed.

Think the Petracca and Oliver ones are the only times I haven’t heard the negative press about the contract length. I think it was harder for commentators to fault that one as both had been in the top echelon for a number of years, had recently won a flag and both were on long consecutive game streaks.

Obviously the Buddy one was the first one in modern times and everyone lost their mind because they thought he’d be retired well before the contract expired. Nearly every super long term contract since the discussion is “player x is not Buddy and it’s crazy that they are getting a deal of that length”. They rant and rave about it until the next player signs a super long term contract and they forget about the previous players and they start ranting about player y and the cycle continues.

Trade English to West Coast for pick 1
Trade Smith to Hawthorn for pick 4
Trade future second for Brodie Grundy

Everything fixed. Watch all the success roll in.

I've got nothing better to do with my days. Says more about then the quality of trade radio however.
