Now, as I mentioned in the review thread, I've decided to make votes double in value for the grand final because, hey, playing well in a grand final should be recognised. I've also created the Black-Hart award for the best player in the grand final if not just because it's a cool sounding name for an award.

Grand Final Results:

COL 12.18.90 - BL 13.8.86 at the MCG

10 Votes - Keidean Coleman (165 votes)
8 Votes - Joe Daniher (148 votes)
6 Votes - Zac Bailey (103 votes)
4 Votes - Hugh McCluggage (97 votes)
2 Votes - Harris Andrews (86 votes)

Final Leaderboard:

Joint Winners - 48 votes - Josh Dunkley and Joe Daniher!
Runner Up - 47 votes - Lachie Neale
Third Place - 31 votes - Harris Andrews
Best Rookie - 27 votes - Will Ashcroft
Best Finals Player and Black-Hart Medallist - 15 votes - Keidean Coleman

29 - Hugh McCluggage
27 - Keidean Coleman
27 - Will Ashcroft
23 - Charlie Cameron
19 - Cam Rayner
16 - Zac Bailey
15 - Eric Hipwood
11 - Jack Payne
8 - Jarrod Berry
8 - Darcy Wilmot
7 - Callum Ah Chee
7 - Lincoln McCarthy
7 - Conor McKenna
6 - Ryan Lester
6 - Jack Gunston
5 - Dayne Zorko
4 - Oscar McInerney
3 - Deven Robertson
3 - Daniel Rich
3 - Jaspa Fletcher

Random Notes:

  • First ever joint winners and lowest margin between the winner(s) and second place.
  • Second lowest tally for a winner after Dayne Beams' win in 2018 where he only polled 36 votes.
  • New record number of votes polled by a rookie player (27) by Will Ashcroft, beating Alex Witherden's 20 votes polled in 2017.
  • Brandon Starcevich is the second winner of the Daniel McStay award for playing every game in a season and not polling a vote, an award inaugurated by Daniel McStay's performance back in 2019.
  • Record number of lead changes of 10 this season, beating the previous record of 4 lead changes from 2021.
  • Hugh McCluggage remains the only winner who was drafted to the club and wasn't obtained through a trade (although that's a bit of a technicality when it comes to Dayne Zorko).

Any thoughts about making finals votes worth more than home and away games in future years?

Yeah, I think that's a good idea. That just need to think about how to scale it reasonably.

I think the Roar Deal had double votes for finals and quadruple votes for the GF. I didn't mind that. Quadruple is a lot. But a Grand Final is a lot. [emoji3539]
Yeah I feel like quadruple is too much. Maybe double for grand final, 1.5x for finals?
