Is Geelong expected to keep pick 8? Remember there was talk of attempting to get two picks in the top 20.
I believe a recent rule change means that they might be able to give us their Fr4... not that it overly appealing.

Oh joy, Pick 60, lmao. Good job AFL![]()
Freo is not expected to go well next year.Soldo deal done for 41 and FR2

Looks like they value Soldo more than Sav whom they are willing to pay a king's ransom for. It appears they are trying to be cute.
Fair enough that is the way they want to play in the future.
Lord, here we come next year. Offer $ for him and let them sort it out.
I think that's very short term thinking. Pick 25 and change is much better than nothing, particularly when we have so many list spots to fill over the next 2 years. We'd be the ones who would be the biggest losers from a situation like this.I would let Sav walk.
If we feel we are not being compensated adequately.
If we lose a pick so be it.
If he gets through good luck to them.
Lets put it in our memory bank.
Do we really want to support a club that becomes known for treating it's players that way? Player is OOC and has requested a move to another club. It cuts both ways and it's all part of the merry go round system that is player trading.I would let Sav walk.

I haveKroeger also.
On behalf of Geelong. I don't know.Is Geelong expected to keep pick 8? Remember there was talk of attempting to get two picks in the top 20.
We've apparently already been offered Picks 15 and 18 by Norf, and rejected it - so I don't see us doing anything until draft night. Will have to be a very decent offer to move from outside the elite bracket into it - 10 and 20 for 8 and a Future 3rd was one suggestion.
No way Mack and especially Wells haven't scouted more than just Sanders and he's the be-all end-all.It was reported in the media (can't remember the journo) that we are keen on Sanders at 8 and if he's gone then we're a real chance to split our pick. So the pick 8 for 15 & 18 might be done on the night.

Port didn't trade Nick Stevens... It hasn't stopped Sav from choosing them.Do we really want to support a club that becomes known for treating it's players that way? And if players at other clubs see us hold out and force a player to the draft then good luck in retaining the "destination club" title that we currently have.
Memory Bank sure.I would let Sav walk.

They can easily pivot to someone else and if someone wants to move up they can offer a F1 along with it.
Otherwise no deal, id rather take 8 and use it. Sanders first priority, then other elite talent 2nd. If we really don't like whats available split but ONLY if we are getting a F1 as well.
Essendon now holds 9, 31 & 35.
Port has 25 & 50 (will be gone in Soldo trade).
Hopefully that pick 35 the Dons received last night will be used for the BZT/Duursma trade. Port offer us 25 & 35 for Esava, with something going back their way?
Could you not theoretically package 25 and 35 to move up on Draft night?Everyone saying pick 25 isn’t enough because it’s actually pick 30 etc and it’s a terrible draft, Why would pick 35 be the cherry on top that makes the deal go through?

Not sure myself just curious?

Or maybe Port do 25 & Duursma for 31, 35 & Soldo. Then they send us 31 & 35? Pick 31 could end up pretty close to pick 25 on draft night anyway.
Edit - pick 25 will become 29, pick 31 will become 33, and pick 35 will stay at 35.
Ehh maybe...that's a big risk to take. Gotta trust Wells and Mack though, they are masters of scouting.Trading down from pick 8 because Sanders isn't there doesn't mean they haven't scouted other players. It means they think pick 8 is only worth keeping if Sanders is there, otherwise two players in the back end of the first round is better.
