We all should, we came out asking for a first rounder or Ollie Lord and end up taking pick 25 because Port just went and traded everything else they had away and you think that's ok? Why shouldnt every other club do the same from now on? Oh that uncontracted star wants to come to us next year, oh well we just traded away everything else we had so here's pick 30 for Nick Daicos.

I dont think Mackie had any info last year, instead they hoped Sav would stay or that he would play so well his value was undeniable. Instead we are here, in the same spot we wouldve been last year, but now Sav is out of contract so all we can do is beg.

Why wasnt Sav signed to a longer deal in 2021, so he'd be a free agent when he next came out of contract? If the club had so much belief in him why not lock him away longer to ensure we get something of value should he choose to leave. A 2 year deal for a 22 year old KPP you have so much faith in seems like a contradiction to me to begin with, and has lead us to this point.
We never asked for Ollie Lord, we weren't interested in him. The media honestly made that one up, I think they read this thread.

Deal is done.
P 25...70s 90s.

In 2021 most Geelong fans thought Sav would have been delisted by now.
And I reckon he was going to be and then in the last VFL game they played him down back and he was quite good. I think the concern in trading then was the "what if?" he's actually a decent backman, we're actually not sure he isn't.

Held onto him and the results were....debatable. Trade him for similar value now, no harm done.

Disappointed we caved. I would have wanted the fr2 richmond got and nor 25 because i dont rate this draft.
Unless we have some other trade planned i dont see the point of picks 76 and 94 as we had picks in the 80s/100s that will come into the 50s anyway and i doubt we use more than 3-4 picks so those are picks we wont use unless we are ontrading them.

The only thing that makes sense here is that early in trade week Mackie said our recruiters had been scouting for options late in the draft. Now we have 8, 25, 76, 87 & 94. Those last three picks will all be around pick 50 on draft night.

Lets not try and spin this as a win shall we, it's insulting to whats left of my intelligence.

You get as many picks as list spots at the end of the draft.

It’s a fail on the steak knives. There is literally no point to the end part of the trade. None. The hold out this time was worthless

Seriously. We were holding out for a 5th rounder and a pick we won't even use?

The team nailed their trades last year, but this could've been done Day 1 if they were just going to roll over for non-concessions like that.

Still makes no sense bc if we dont take 76 and 94 we use for example 8 82 100 and 118 but the last 2 picks come into 54 and 55 (no one will pick past 55). 76 might come into say 53 instead of 54 but its not a gain worth fighting for. Fairly pointless.
