According to Jay Clark

1. REID
2. MCKERCHER
3. DUURSMA
4. WATSON
5. SANDERS
6. CADDY
7 GWS ?.??

He believes Giants could trade pick to somebody who wants Curtin.

Walter will go at 2 for a start.
But yeah the rest could happen. Osullivan could go at 7 to gws or they could trade the pick.
Be interesting to see if someone will trade up to grab curtin if they do they will target our pick or gws.
Id do 8 for F1 from wce if they offered it.

He and his family huge Pies supporters.
That's where he'll end up.

Holmes is more chance to end up there than clark imo i dont think clark is going anywhere.

Now that would be an interesting negotiation next year

We shall see.
Wonder why we can't keep Holmes happy.
Clark I can get has always wanted to be a Pie, despite being a "local"

Why on earth would a highly young talented player like Jhye Clark re-sign after one quarter of football? Every kid drafted barracks for someone at the time, how many leave for that club down the track for that reason. You’ll only need one hand to count them.

Somehow, Holmes, Clark for Reid?/
How doers Collingwood fit this ?

@#$! - that's a high price, but if the hype about Reid is true... maybe a fair trade?

Obviously they'd have to extract Reid from WCE - or North. Wouldn't think the Kangas would give up another #1 picked player only 2-3 years after it happened once.

In either case, the Pies will be up the pointy end for a few more years and won't have much draft collateral, which means how they'd satisfy a trade for two of our core players that would be enough for Eagles or Roos.

It's all a hypothetical - let's face it, even if one of those players want to go, it'll be an interesting trade in and of itself.

We have that handful already.

Gone on my ignore list now. Same schtick everytime, and loves to be contrarian for the sake of it.

Nevermind that all and sundry from draft scouts on here, to club draft scouts and leading industry people, have all said this is the most shallow draft in recent memory.

Also neglects to mention that while Michael Ablett thinks it's disrespectful and talent managers need to 'look deeper', that the reasoning the draft is more shallow, is because clubs are now leaving spots for the SSP and MSD - and letting more speculative picks develop further before they draft them down the line.

So in actuality, Michael is not even entirely disagreeing, just hates how it reflects on the draftees who work hard for the opportunity, and wants those factors taken into consideration when calling it a 'shallow draft.'

Poor reading comprehension it seems - as too overtaken by the need to be the one with the different 'independent' view...to actually understand what the article and Ablett are actually saying.

Also an afl talent manger who works closely with the young kids showed support and didn’t come out and say “yeh this draft Pool sucks”. What a shock

Pretty sure there's been comments during the season from those with connections to the family that have said a Clark has no interest in leaving in a trade to Collingwood

Players would be aware that the team you support as a youngster is unlikely to be the team you play for as an adult

That is such a lazy take Dubs, and just peak pessimism.

There's literally no proof that this is the case. In fact, we've had posters come in here who know the Clark family who have said Jhye has no intention of leaving.

I highly doubt Holmes will either, as that's already been shut down numerous times...but at least there's been a couple rumblings to suggest that could be the case, and he at least was an eastern suburbs Melbourne guy.

Your only reasoning is he grew up a Collingwood supporter. He's not from Melbourne, he hasn't been drafted interstate, he was literally just a supporter. That's your hypothesis.

Joel Selwood being his mentor by the time he was 16, playing with all his junior falcons mates, and being seen as a future leader at his local club are irrelevant to you? It's all based on who he supported a as a kid?

I suppose we can all look forward to Charlie Curnow, Archie Perkins, Bailey Humphrey, Will Ashcroft, Harley Reid, Darcy Fogarty, James Worpel, & Hugh McCluggage all making their way down the highway because of their childhood allegiances?

Jhye Clark 13, you're going to love this one.

Spot on mate.

If he's as good as hoped, he could be signing a 5 year deal on good money by June next year.

Why would you lock yourself into a contract, when you know you can extract more currency/job security at a later stage?

Damn I hope that is true 🙏, all of us do.

People loved it when St Kilda got in Hill, Higgins, Butler, Dougal Howard and Ryder all in one trade period.

Personally I was just about the only person saying that it would get them nowhere.

They were trying to ice the cake but they didn't actually have a cake ready to ice (Dons are similar).

Not surprisingly I was proven correct and guys like King that was drooling over them winning the trade period now purposely forgets what he said and says it didn't work for them.

I have no issue with what we did this period... There really wasn't anything available to get.

Parish as a FA would have been nice but after seeing the Dons bring in a million free agents, they were never letting Parish go without matching (Parish didn't wanna leave anyway).

We asked about a contracted Smith and it wasn't an open.

McKay as a FA might turn out to be ok... but he might just get injured as per usual lots.

If we draft a star then who cares about the spuds like Dow & Coffield and the junkies like Hollands didn't go for or get.
Tommy Morris of SEN radio has ranked us 17th best for the free agency/ trade period …..

I can tell you all the premiers for the last 10 years…

Can’t remember any of the of the clubs who “won” the free agency / trade period over the past decade!

I doubt there is any correlation between the two - and if there is it would be time delayed at best…

Maybe, but IF he wanted out, we would be well compensated. And hoping he gets to show a bit of what he can do next season.
True, I have no knowledge, but just stating what I think he will do.
Hope it's unfounded.
But not really stressed if he did request to leave.
That may change after 24.
