Or, we move the "traditional" Carlton Richmond game to a standalone the week before Opening Round and call it "Round Negative One."

Eventually we can get to a point where teams that didn't make finals kick off the next season in the bye round before the current season's Grand Final, thereby deciding order of picks in that year's National Draft, but during a non Finals teams Trade week so players can audition for potential destination clubs.

Yes and no.

So i frantically log into Supercoach today as the season starts to press the auto-fill button and these campaigners are now telling me it doesn't start to next week? Seems like a wasted push to me.

no points at stake this week but we get a free look at how players perform in the real stuff.

Must watch for rookies and mid pricers especially

• did they get the role we were expecting
• are they capable of scoring to the level needed to make decent cash
• did a rookie get the green vest
• who took the kickouts
• who got cbas and who didn't

Yeah I get that but it kinda makes a lot of the hard work a lot of us did in the preseason pointless, because I feel like all it'll do is make a lot of our teams more similar. It definitely makes the year easier, which makes it harder to get the 50k

Apologies as I’m sure this has been answered elsewhere but I can’t see it- do players prices still adjust per normal in round 0? I know the whole shebang doesn’t actually start until the following round but I’m wondering if it’s still worth grabbing the players we think might go up & down this week.

I think you might be confusing SC with AFL fantasy. Prices won't change until after their 3rd game, but the round 0 games will count towards those 3 games.

e.g. Grundy either get a 130+ or 80s - either way, it would be interesting for team selections. Those with him and without him atm

Stupid Opening Round, more byes, even less clarity regarding team selection giving coaches even more opportunity to be campaigners

Solely because coaches complained that when they dropped players to the sub role they had to declare them “omitted” when they weren’t dropped, they were just the sub.

But that IS being dropped from the best 22.

If Cotchin or Ziebell are the sub, they aren’t best 22 that week, ergo they are dropped.

Coaches ****ing love the sound of their own voices sometimes and just prattle any old shit. Get Gerard Whately on board to make the naming of the teams on Thursday nights “a talking point” and you’ve got yourself a needless rule change.

A useless Round of AFL Football .....well not useless completely, we all get to rip our sides apart & start again

Players on our "never" list .....will suddenly be elevated into our sides, making a nonsense of all the SC Rules we live by .....injury prone players players over 30 , players with hugely impacted PS training ......nothing is off the table this year
