Our midfield battled very well today , we won both clearance and contested, did turn it over tho
True but we don't have any in and under bulls who want to get their hands nice and dirty, I noticed this kid loves that sort of stuff, he fits the bill on what we need right now.

Tigers, (Happy AFL to you, your family and your friends)
  • A great gusty moral win by the Tigers
  • A few bad errors cost us the game MRJ, Marlon etc, I'm looking at you - not to mention the injuries ...
  • Its early in the season and loads to build on - and what we saw tonight might be the spark which ignites our season.
  • The Blues.... if they think they are looking deep into finals this year based on tonight - they have holes all over the place and were lucky to come away with the win, so maybe they are not that far ahead of a 'hidden Tiger' who may also be a surprise package this year - at times I dont know why the umpires didnt kick the ball for them... there were clearly quite a free kicks based on the crowd umpiring the game ...

Gutsy by the team. Skill errors, injuries and some rather questionable umpiring inconsistency made the difference.

Carlton didn’t look the best, but they are 2-0, have plenty of time to find their groove to get their game to compete against the top teams, just need to bank points.

Bolton and Rioli Jnr really need to be dropped, for completely opposite reasons.

Rioli tries hard, but doesn’t read the play at all. He ball watches a lot and is always in no man’s land. Part of the reason he gets so many run down tackles is because he is quick and doesn’t man up properly, which gives him ample opportunity for the rundown.

Don’t think he will make it tbh. People say he has good defensive forward pressure, not really.

Bolton is just a liability at this point. Tries to constantly smash the crap off of kicks that should be straight forward goals. He does this constantly. He also turns the ball over constantly and lacks any defensive side to his game. When in the middle, they get centre clearances a lot because he just leaves his man.

He does some amazing things, but that’s a part of the problem. Every scenario he is involved in, he tries to make it some miracle moment while forgetting the basics.

Doesn’t matter how many injuries we have, you have to set standards. Dropped for 2-3 weeks.

Good luck to the injured players. Tough luck to Gibcus, but silver lining is it happened start of the season. Get the knee right and have a full preseason.

Prestia, it’s been a pleasure, but your body is shot son.

Young, put his body on the line, most you can ask for. Enjoy the week off and take it easy.

TLTR. Umpires stiffed us and we are going to win the premiership.

I'm sort of hoping I have. I could probably find better ways to spend my time and money.

Sad about Gibcus, probably another year of development gone. Such bad luck. Hope he recovers well and comes back better.
Need to bring Kmac2 in for Prestia, i recall he's kinda quick.
Balta is a forward. When he tried to kick laterally and screwed it up we knew it wasn't meant to be.
Players having an absolutely crap start to the season: Rioli, Taranto & Bolton
Whatever they're doing with Bolton, stop it. He's playing so badly it's not even a joke. Use him like last he was doing last season.
I would rather have Bauer / Tresize be our Gibcus replacement than Ben Miller. The guy has absolutely no footy IQ.

dimma's legacy

fringe players who get repeatedly demoted after one poor game get this overthinking scared to f up shyte creep into their psyche

just like dimma scared to lose his whatchamacallit last dance moment always treated fringe players now we see the effects with cumdawg and the man both showing signs of self-doubt[ and who could blame mansell for being unsure of his place in the league after being wiped out for 3 weeks just as he had cemented his palce in the side after a long struggle for knocking that ******* guys headband off in an attack on tha ball]

my point is he has played how many games and is he alone in effing up easy kicks tonight
How TF do people just find a person and put all the blame on them?

Dimmas legacy is a dynasty, mate. He's not even the coach and your still blaming him for selections? Use your head ffs

What happened with that Baker 50? Did he actually knock the ball out? From the stands it just looked like they bumped into each other.

100% Baker knocked it out, was fairly paid. Shouldn't have done it as he landed a metre behind Dekoning then quickly cuts him off with enough force the ball didn't just spill out it actually flew a couple of metres. Was so dumb and unnecessary. Everybody knows the centre square is exactly 50m long but the cheating umpire gave him 60m. Funny we never get them paid that long. Baker stuffed up endlessly in the last quarter.

Fantastic effort, shame about Gibcus.

Bolton and Pickett both shitful.
I was pretty close to bandwagon seat 1A when Bolton was drafted but he's been pissing me off for a while. Trending on Twitter tonight for good reason - he is now annoying everyone. Seems like a guy who would be better suited to being good at an individual sport.
Pickett can’t be picked next week. Miles off it on current form.
Marlion was frustrating. Holds on to the ball too long usually. Hard to tell off the TV if that's because of a lack of options further afield. Consequently caught, but I admire his work rate and I think redeemed himself with consecutive centre clearances after going into the ruck. Can play pretty much any role so is handy to have around.
he seems to waltz around giving the impression he doesnt care, too cool.
Agreed, as I said earlier
Someone on twitter mentioned Lefau copped a knock late in the VFL game.
I think I heard it was a blow to the ribs but I was listening, not watching.

dusty does it but he makes sure theres plenty of space to make the shot. mansell tonight did it with about a shoebox's space and it actually closed the angle rather than open it. was incredibly dumb.
True. But I think Dusty demonstrated perfectly tonight the way to approach it. Dropped the ball to the ground, took some breaths and then nailed it. Perhaps he was soaking up time, I don't know but he was mentally prepared. Too many can't deal with the pressure.
