Blame Mark Harvey...that's Mick Martyn coming at him..
As soon as it's high and intentional it's at least a week.
Yep, exactly it was not a (conscious) decision. If you poke me in the eye, I'm gonna blink. Not brace for contact in a split second where he saw something out of his peripheral vision apparently.

MATCH REVIEW: No case to answer for Sun, fines aplenty
The Match Review findings from Sunday's round two games are inwww.afl.com.au
Running for the ball, punches a guy in the head, no penalty.
Did you hear MAtthew Lloyds take on the matter? He would prefer Wright injure himself rather than injure Cunningham. Truly staggering take. Worse than anything Kane Cores has dished upNot brace for contact in a split second where he saw something out of his peripheral vision apparently.
ClearedThe one I’m curious about was if the Heeney one even got looked at.
C’mon man, accidents are not allowed to happen in today’s society. We need to beat our hairy chest and take someone to taskUnlucky situation really IMO.
Wright often takes those on his chest, his eyes were on the ball right up until the last moment when he turned to protect himself. Nothing malicious in it and you could tell he felt bad about hurting Cunningham from the moment it happened. He went up to him immediately after the game to apologise.
BUT
He turned his body to protect himself, leading with the shoulder, and knocked a player out. It's the exact thing Maynard did, and the exact rule change they made because Maynard should have been suspended for it. Whether it's malicious or not.
People think Eddie is a buffoon but he is actually one of the smartest operators the game has seen. People are blinded by his love of Collingwood but when you listen to his take(s), they do make sense and this one will be an interesting listen if you’ve got a link?I really liked Eddie's take on this on his show with Bartel.
He was suggesting that we should be looking at the issue of right of way and the onus of responsibility should be on the player going back with the flight of the ball rather than Wright who was approaching the ball.
He talked about Johnathon Brown cutting his career short because he kept on going back with the flight of the ball.
Eddie said a couple of other interesting things about it. He looked at from a mature perspective and talked about the hysteria clouds judgment.
People think he is a buffoon because he his agenda was Collingwood first. Not that I blame him. You are right he is one of the smartest operators in the game but he does sometimes have hidden motives. I agree in this case. If a player has a duty of care when he is genuinely going for the footy then blokes do have a duty of care to themselves when coming back the other way.People think Eddie is a buffoon but he is actually one of the smartest operators the game has seen. Agreed. He is open minded to all aspects of the game. He always has insightful things to say.People think Eddie is a buffoon but he is actually one of the smartest operators the game has seen. 100% Yoda, there will be alot of players missing games if this is the benchmark..C’mon man, accidents are not allowed to happen in today’s society. We need to beat our hairy chest and take someone to task

I’ve addressed this earlier that the right-of-way encourages players to go back with the flight to draw free kicks. The better option is to make front-on contact a free no matter if your eyes are on the ball or not. That way players will think twice about being suicidal.I really liked Eddie's take on this on his show with Bartel.

Maybe Wright should have got a free kick for front-on contact?I’ve addressed this earlier that the right-of-way encourages players to go back with the flight to draw free kicks. Funniest part of this carry on (from Cunningham supporters) is that 2MP went out of his way to hurt Harry. Like 2MP who was run out of Gold Coast for his lack of aggression has some **** in him to actually go out of his way to hurt an opponent.100% Yoda, there will be alot of players missing games if this is the benchmark..
Surely there's room for accidental contact and whilst I'm on this is there provision for lenient sentences due to a player having a good record anymore ?
No. I’m talking about changing the overall instinctive thinking of footballers to prevent situations like this arising. Players going back with the flight should be less common than it is. Despite the fact that I love the spectacle of courage displayed it’s definitely dangerous and if they have to think twice about doing it then it’s a way forward in the CTE debate.Maybe Wright should have got a free kick for front-on contact?
Fair call outHow is this different, in terms of duty of care, to the two Saints players head clash which resulted in Mason Wood's concussion - a far worse injury than Cunningham's? Both players off their feet both going for the ball. Do players only owe a duty of care to opposition players?
Fair call out
Why is the accountability diminished if its your teammate.
