GWS will pay him more than what we could have ever do…be nice to dream and get him
GWS are going to have so many mouths to feed. Having 80% of your list as top 15 draft picks is expensive.

Players on their list will be vulnerable to being picked off. Cadman should be well in our sights.

As you can see from my time active on this profile compared to the low amount of comments/posts ive made, i don't have time to see all the dumb s**t that goes on with BigFooty.
I have a pregnant partner, a job and stuff to do lol

Must be nice...

Looking at my start date, this forum might just be my longest association with anything outside family and friends.

Only 2.... ?

The bevo moratorium

Waiting to see how much the cap goes up.

Lobb is gone though as is daniel if they can find some club silly enough to take on their contracts.

Ok Ok here it is.
I don't usually get too involved in whispers and such unless i have something of substance.
I can't devuldge all my sources.
But one today all but confirmed that Western Bulldog Bailey SMITH will be playing in the hoops in 2025.
He has given me pretty good intel over the past decade so i'm happy to post it.
Cheers Boys!!

Not sure I like it but we are here to smile and clap not to make the hard decisions. As I said last week , after Danger ..we lack that type of mid ..and Dangers is close to being gone. As John L said... "All we are saying is give him a chance ..second chance ... third chance ...fourth chance..

So does it shape like a year where we add a couple of of players that theoretically could be best 22.. and add a couple of bargain basement type picks. Fine with me if we can find another Dempsey

Bailey ...maybe a FA... and a couple of late picks?

If the club believe he's right both mentally and physically, I'm going to trust their judgement over mine.

We can all have our preconceived notions on what type of person he is, but we don't know the guy personally
...and as you say, it's not our job.

If the club believes he can be the player to help lead that Holmes, Clark, Bruhn, Conway midfield then I trust that they're correct.

With the money hawthorn are throwing at him he would be leaving a lot on the table to come here.
But i know we are keen.

I wouldn’t sign if I was parfait then

He's already earning a million+ in endorsements.

Would not surprise me at all if he's more worried about winning a premiership than he is contract $$$.

I'm a Mitchell fan, but Hawthorn are a long way off, and Baz will be 25 by next year.

I don't think he's interested in a 3-5 year plan, but I could be wrong.

pretty much pov. My preference is to go to draft but that becomes more tepid once we finish higher and have something like late picks in every round. Im happy that we are far from being devoid of youth.. so if we can strengthen our play now list with trade inplayers young enough to give us 5 years then fine... and if we could find a contributing older player as a FA then fine too. (who could complain with a ISmith type addition)

I am a bit with u there Turbo.
Wasn't fussed either way we went.
Just heard (and have heard it again) that the powers in the coaches box along with list management viewed him as a priority and that the powerbrokers will facilitate it all.
The bloke who told me is more involved in the latter.
Gonna sit back and watch it play out.

Money comes from many different avenues these days.
Don't worry about the footballing cash here.
Will earn more outside of it.

Most on lookers have been keen to point out our weakness in the middle ..probably makes sense that some would think like that inside the club.

100%.

We'll be having a pick 14-18 from here one would think, I'd take the risk on Smith with that in a heartbeat.

Top 10 and it's a different story, but as you say we've got quality youth now. It's not the same situation we where in in '17-19 where we were devoid of that.

Essentially 3 first round picks in '20 (Henry, Bruhn, Holmes), two high quality early second rounders in '21 (Conway & Knevitt), and now back to back top 10 picks in '22 & '23 (Clark, COS)

Appear to have struck oil with Dempsey, Neale, Mullin, & Humphries too.

We can afford to take a risk on a Smith type now, especially if it's a pick closer to 20 than 10.

Scotty's got Smith across the line then you reckon?

Wouldn't be the first time. Holds immense respect in the game does our coach, it's only the internet types that think otherwise.

Parfitt wont sign until the 2nd half of the year no reason for him to.
With some of the longer deals FA clubs are giving spuds (see jordon, anyone remember rory atkins) hes best to wait and see if another club offers him.a bigger and longer deal. His form is better so unless he gets injured its the obvious play.

We will offer him something but i doubt its more than 2 years on average money.

Hopper was a "locked in" player too so I'll wait till its a done deal before being totally confident that the line has been crossed.
