Autopsy still in it at half time 2 weeks running v Poortaloos,

We were behind by plenty, Larkey needed help and Pink was unsighted. It was the right call, for most of the day Chom was caught on smaller players anyway.
No point swinging him forward.

Let him settle into that role all year. Literally one of the few capable of winning his duel.

I'm interested in seeing a team developing into a solid team over 2024-26.
We have a few good players to come back in over the next 2-3 weeks which should improve us.
Just want players who are not up to it out of the team.

Look I’m not having a go here but if we don’t play a core group of spuds, it will be bigger beltings in the second half of the year

The spuds are preventing 100 point weekly blow outs

Believe it or not

Majority of us on 100k pa put in more effort than some of the jokers we have running around for us.
For too long they've taken the piss and not put in the required effort. Perhaps 5 years + and were seeing the result of that now.
All those praising Corr, Mcdonald etc for finally putting in AFL standard performance are part of the problem. It shouldn't take 8 embarrassing losses in a row for senior players to respond. Send a bunch of them to stack aisles at Coles and Woolworths for the entire bye week so they earn their pay.

For most of the day it looked like he was our main intercept marker. I just wish we’d play our players in their positions and back them in. If he’s a back, let him grow as a back man. Game was done by then, why swing him forward if it’s not going to change anything? We don’t swing Corr forward ffs.

Chicken littles everywhere. We’re improving. I get frustrated too believe me but if you can’t see the improvement you’re a football illiterate.
Improvement from when? Round one? Last year? Specifically what areas do you see our improvement?

Some players have improved, many have gone backwards. Our on-field leadership has declined.

We don't have the fitness or work rate to make any resemblance of a structured game plan take shape for more than 15 minutes.

All in all it is still a complete shit show with a long road ahead to just be able to compete.

In a way lm glad l had other things on this weekend….and I’ll take that positive away as my highlight…
Watched the last qrt on car trip home…..geezzzbus…….
No point in me getting cranky……what else can be gained from it……its beyond supporters frustrations ….
I sometimes wonder what’s going on in those minds…..
but some of our players when attempting to tackle….and l mean attempting in a loose way ….to come to a complete deadset stop without trying to lay a finger on the opposition in a tackle…oh dear he ran past me…nah I’ll just drop my arms by my side, stop and watch them jog past as its all too hard….……this is not the team l watched as a youngster….to just give up …its all to hard….……l don’t know what else to even think ….sigh….

I think this sums up what l viewed in a nutshell.

Idk what to do re watching anymore

Week in week out for 2 years of hoping; probably longer but this season is horrific. Absolutely zero chance of winning week in and week out

I can’t even read the farce of the Preview Thread and the arguments of who is In and who is Out when it’s peripheral players that are pretty much not that good

It used to be such a huge part of my winter existence following this game

But this is absolutely the pits, football Hell.

Embarrassing to mention you follow them weekly.

Humiliating to watch the Opposition mock us today…look at JHF at 11.22 in the 3rd quarter laughing at how garbage we are.

I can remember as a kid being shattered leaving the 78 GF and Mum saying you know Dad has seen a lot worse.

Nearly 50 years on for the life of me i cannot believe I am seeing this right before my eyes; the worst run in our history
I feel the same….it’s so awful to be winless in this era….how can it have gone do wrong?

Watching us on a weekly basis. And we aren’t JCVD.

Bloke getting his nut sack smashed is the North Melbourne tackling coach.

Just a series of bad choices over 10 years…but sheesh I’m coming up 56 in August and this is the pits of my living memory

I'd say since we started running out there without Ziebell, Cunnington, Goldy, TT, McKay and even Logue (temporarily). We are coming from a long way back losing that much experience in a single off-season and the list is in shambles. Many of the players out there are still trying to find their place in the team, and others shouldn't even really be out there but for necessity. Just gotta keep chipping and looking for signs, not much else can be done at this stage. Sucks.

In hindsight, to think we would be better than last year was silly

One thing i noticed today, almost every time after an oppo mark, even if we immediately ran back 2-3 steps to get around the stand call, we were called to stand anyway, despite being nowhere near the actual mark
Umpiring is ****ed.

But we are so shit they can do whatever they want and no matter what, no one give a ****.

The football world has gone into meltdown over one shit decision against Collingwood.

It would explode if Collingwood got the same 4 gimps umpiring us weekly.

North is the AFL Umpire Work Experience program.

Boggled the mind.
At times players were clearly running back outside 5, never having stood on the mark and the umpire started screaming "HEY, HEY, HEY! STAND! STAND!"
Other times you had an umpire that looked to be making players run to the mark, stop for a second and then allow them to run back outside 5. It was just ****ing weird.

Not to mention the umpire that asked a port player to move back 2 meters, 3 times, before physically running in and making him move back, no 50.

I watched the Carltank v GC game Mutt's ( sorry 😥 ) Completely different rulebook if you are Cripps, Walsh, McKay, Curnow standing the mark.
GC got a free kick in the b.p. Obvious free kick and whistle had gone. Yet Carltank player grabbed the ball, handballed to a team-mate in the goalsquare, who kicked it into the crowd. No 50m paid.

Read it as code for "THE LIST IS COMPLETELY ****ED AND THE KIDS NEED TO GET 50-100 MORE GAMES INTO THEM"
But what happens then?

We lose by 4 goals instead of 10 goals?

It’s becoming tiresome to listen to the same shit while anyone with two eyes can see there are a lot of our players that pick and choose when to compete.

50-100 games doesn’t fix that. It’s basic 101 shit. Effort, effort and more effort, that the only way the worm turns.

It felt like we put in another promising performance and the stats were fairly even suggesting we were competitive for large periods of the game, but a 10-goal defeat shows we were never really in it. Our lack of composure, poor skills and decision-making cost us 2 or 3 goals a quarter and we just can't cover that many self-inflicted wounds.

I thought our defense was very good today, despite once again conceding 100 points. Comben looks very solid, I think he should be given the rest of the season to cement a spot down back, Corr has played better over the last few weeks as has McDonald, while Archer, Tucker and Fisher all played well. Wil Dawson looks promising but is still raw and will probably be replaced by Kallan Dawson in our next game.

Our midfield was outplayed but battled till the end, LDU was our best today, but I though Sheezel, Powell and Wardlaw were a little down. Xerri tried hard again, but I wish he would stop grabbing the ball out of the ruck, especially in defense, it cost us a goal today.

Our forwards were totally outplayed today, but I don't think our forward 50 entries helped them, they were extremely poor. I'm not sure how Larkey is supposed to compete against his opponent/s when the ball is kicked on or over his head, he is better on the lead but there was very little space for him to lead into because our forward set up is such a mess. A lot of work needs to be done in this area of the park before we can compete consistently.

Clarkson win percentage is now below Noble's (12.5% compared to 13.2%) so the question has to asked, have we improved since the sacking of Noble. I'm not convinced we have.

They’ve both had rubbish lists

Ken Hinkley or Horse could do nothing with what these two inherited

It’s all good mate, we’ll get there eventually because the coach is saying it enough to come true.

Like Dorothy and her contention that there’s no place like home.
