It's also pretty funny that while Port were wasting first round picks to get Ratugolea and Zerk-Thatcher, we were busy snatching Butts, Keane and Murray without using any national draft picks

IMO BZT and Ratugolea are both worse than Butts
Yep but we’ve used a pick 6 on a failed KPD and just used pick 8 on a KPD that we are teaching how to defend

Not sure if I want Port getting all this negative scrutiny now

This is usually the period of the year they're guzzling bathwater by the tub load

Then it's only at crunch time they realise their shortcomings, when it's too late. Then forget everything and rinse and repeat for the following season.

I prefer that way

Won't matter, you can't change a list half way through a season. As others have pointed out they have hacks and band aid players all over the field.

Our ability to find diamonds in the rough is second to none, considering how we've built our backline.

Our use of top 10 picks has been massively questionable over the years however.

Some of the Port supporters are truly deluded, they actually believe they have the best list in the league and that it's all Ken's fault that they're not winning premierships.

They have some good players but there's a lot of holes in that team and they have absolutely no depth.
How long have I been saying their list is bog ordinary?

But they've set themselves up for 10 years I tells ya!! Ten years!!!

First round for Wines? Will hang up the boots end of next year.

I tend to agree

Wines turns 30 at the end of the year, no one is paying a first rounder for a 30 year old.

I suspect if he goes it will be as a salary dump to free up some cap space.

Yeah fair point. I thought he was a bit younger for some reason.

You never know though, North may try and go after him if he is available. They may be able to get their 2nd rounder for him which is 1st pick in the 2nd round.

Wines really struggled last night .....very slow, and struggled with his kicks .....short, high & loopy ...those big thighs harder to carry around as he's getting older

There may be a couple of clubs circling, hoping he recaptures some Brownlow form, but no one is spending a first round on a bloke who cannot match it with the modern midfielders. I would imagine there would be a few who would pay a second rounder if Port pays half of his salary.

For his faults, Murphy is not on the bog tier level that McHenry and McEntee are.
Murphy is shite.. utter shite..

And his main issue is that he goes completely missing for two, and sometimes even three, quarters in the majority of games he plays in.. for a supposed club “leader” that is completely unacceptable..

His skills actually aint that bad.

And comparing him to other shite players at pretender clubs like the Powa and using that to justify his continued selection is pretty dumb when you think about it..

Is McEntee in ports leadership group?. Nope!

Hes a fringe player whos shite like Murph..

So the difference is.. Only the crows give players like this a leadership role..

Modra would have about 150 less goals with the hands-in-the-back rule.

I’m not talking about his speccys necessarily (although he did use his hands occasionally) but he was the master of giving the little nudge in a one-on-one.

It’s an artform.

Hands in the back too often rewards the hapless defender who is out-positioned and out-bodied.

This is the sort of absurdity you used to get with that rule:

Example number 46364826372 of us getting shafted to the advantage of a Victorian team. Laughable original decision, followed by a 50-50 decision that went Hawthorns way. It’s just consistent systemic cheating.

If they keep making Finals Ken will ride the gravy train forever.

Then Carr gets on-board for the ride.

I heard a couple of weeks ago that Ken is choosing to leave at the end of this year. He is/was very definite about it. Things might change but I highly doubt it. I would put my house on it.
