Seems like using the ladder to tell which team is better at this point in the season is not the go anymore?
I remember a very different discussion the last few weeks when Pies were ahead by a game or even just %.

What ever happened to this thread being a bit of fun and banter. Some of the arguments back and forth reminds me of my school days. Let's face it, Collingwood are the greatest club in the world and Carlton is trying to emulate that, it's cool but not set in stone

Mine was about Team A who are the reigning premiers and currently one game behind Team B.
You then counter argue with Team C who finished five rungs lower on the ladder than Team D in 2023, and are currently 9 wins and 16 rungs lower on the ladder in 2024...

I agree percentage difference is neither here nor there- it is the # of games you need to win V Carlton that should start giving you the itchies and scratchies...
as for Essendon ...I reckon they are going to be up for the fight apparently 4 Dnihers will be there and a light show and all sorts of awesome pregame entertainment for their fans as it is their home game

Give them a break.
They're still working out how complex things like percentages work, given most of their lives it hasn't ever really been a factor - they've just made sure they've lost the most games to guarantee the #1 Draft pick.

Without that run of losses we wouldn’t be the team we are now, having won 19 of our last 25 games, the best winning percentage of all teams in that period.
It doesn’t mean anything for what will happen this year, we have work to do & other teams will have a say, but it is highly encouraging..
So whilst it was a dark day, the sun came up the days after & it’s shining bright now

So Carlton are the July 2023 to May 2024 Premiers (without actually having won the premiership that was on offer during that time - that honour went to Collingwood).

There will come a point where you have to stop bringing up the 10 or 20 idiot Carlton supporters that abused our players so you can win a petty “our supporters are better than your supporters” argument. It would have been worse if those Carlton players were racially abused like Ash Johnson was this year by your own supporters. Is that okay to bring up?
