Just on FiveAA..

I don't listen to it much , other than when the crows lose or when Ken seems another inch closer to being sacked but I can't believe how shitful the entire presentation of this station is , it's like they're being transmitted from 1994. Are the people who run this station 70+ years old?

Former AFL champion Daniel Kerr has avoided jail for inflicting terrifying violence on his former partner over a period of six years.
The WA District Court was told that Kerr, 41, the brother of Matildas star Sam Kerr, had choked and assaulted his former partner multiple times and used coercive behaviour that was controlling, emotionally and financially abusive between 2013 and 2019. During sentencing, Judge Wendy Gillon said Kerr had been suffering an undiagnosed mental illness at the time of the offending and suspended a 4½ year prison term for two years.

I've never seen such pile on by the media that the crows are getting now on our club.
It's absolutely insane.
FiveAA managed to get the CEO on the day after the game.
It's radio silence from us after a big loss.

The Adelaide media has long been a haven for “Crow’s ambassadors”.

It doesn’t surprise me in the slightest that the actually analyst of the game has been non-existent. Its all an emotional reaction which appeals to both the Crow’s supporters and therefore the media outlets.

More like a undiagnosed mental illness likely contributed by Methamphetamines.
So between 2013 and 2019 his " mental illness" was so debilitating that he had no capacity or his judgement was so impaired that he couldn't concept right and wrong?
It's people like this that end up avoiding time and then we're all scratching our heads as to how they've murdered another woman a few years later.

Surprise, surprise - "Carlton has made just the one change, with the injured Orazio Fantasia (shoulder) replaced by fellow small forward Corey Durdin."
I work with a bunch of Carlton fans and all of them are bemused as to why Orazio was a) picked up by their club and b) getting any games.

I'd say that's it for him unless they all fall over.

In saying that , I've seen weirder... He'll probably have a premiership medal by the end of September like his mate Frampton.

McEntee has more goals for the season…. 69% to 63% time on ground….

Enough said really.

Attracting assistant coaches is such an overrated concern this is a heartland state full of ex players/experienced state league coaches etc. that would be as good as anyone if given opportunity.

Our biggest problem is giving jobs to people like Chad Cornes & Hamish Hartlett on the back of little to no coaching experience, you could've had people like Gotch running the SANFL program & a guy like Campo working with midfielders etc. we are so myopic on this I'd give plenty of state league coaches a look at line coaching before worrying about who won't move out of Victoria.
I think you should have half your assistants and development coaches from insiders ie ex players who know the people in charge and who has the power, know the supporters and the culture of the club and have respect for them/it, and half from outside, to bring in fresh ideas and some outside IP and aren't beholden to the existing group think. Its no different to finding that right mix of youth and experienced players

The real issue is the quality of both the insiders and the outsiders and those who need to be let go because they are stale. Chad never really wanted the assistants job, but was asked to do it and he said ok. He's now stale. Hartlett and Lobbe just aren't good enough - haven't done much outside of their experience at Port.

I'd have no problem if ex players Brad Ebert, Jacob Surjan and Jarrad Schofield get gigs back at Port. All have left the place and got experience elsewhere with Surjan and Schofield being in charge of their own team and coaching a whole club experience.

Ex Glenelg 2019 coach premiership coach Mark Stone after 3 years there, was snapped up by Brisbane to work with their midfield.

Before Glenelg he had worked at Freo, Sydney and West Coast. He was a captain coach at Wagga Tigers took over from Terry Daniher, Terry's last year was a flag in 1998, Stone coached a flag in 1999 and 3rd in 2000, then ended up assistant coach at South Freo in the WAFL in 2001-02 after seeing the job advertised and took a chance.

He was snapped up by WCE at end of 2002. After a flag in 2006 he left WCE after the drugs BS at end of 2007, went to Sydney between 2008-2011 seasons, then spent 6 seasons at Freo when they made a GF and finals under Ross Lyon. His titles at AFL clubs were stoppages coach, mid field coach, strategy coach etc. So as you say Jimmy, there are plenty of guys at state league level who can be good assistant and development coaches at AFL levels.

Svers saying the Crows have cut their list as deep as any club ever was hilarious.

I could pick 5 that should go from their first 22 alone, let alone their whole list.

Yeah he was all very Koch esque, a little less obnoxious and aloof than Koch, and at least accepted that things were bad.......we could lose the next 6 by an average of 50 and Koch would be all, "well if you note the positives like beating Geelong in Geelong, it hasnt been a terrible season"

I think living in 1994 is a pre-requisite to being employed there, and when you get to Saturdays you have to be living in the 50's and 60's to have an opinion.

So a few years before he presents 7 news or appears on Dancing with the Stars.

Suspended sentence. Pathetic!

on the topic of the crows: afl teams that use darren burgess, they seem to peak quickly when he starts at the club, then fall just as quickly, is he that good that he can get outstanding results from a low base, but then burn them out?
i do not follow soccer, where he has been historically, but it seems port, melbourne & the crows, is it a trend???
warned some crows supporters that I know, last year this would happen.
maybe just a coincidence.

Absolutely this, SA has plenty of talent, but it’s ignored.
Both at player and coaching level due to the weird private school elitism.

I think there's something too that.

I remember about the 2nd or 3rd year he was here having him saying there were no limits. I didn't take him as seriously believing that at the time but our form fell away and the pattern has repeated elsewhere.
