Re: Pav Resigns

not the outcome I wanted but at least it is done now so we can all move on

Agree, I also think it would have cost us more than what it was worth, Fremantle had the power, the AFC would have been like lambs to the slaughter.

Re: Pav Resigns

re-signing makes it much more unlikely that he'll move anywhere but, theoretically, contracted players can be traded provided the clubs agree on a price and the player is willing to go.
saying that, pavlich will remain at the dockers.

Best of luck to the great man! A champion player and a champion bloke. He is obviously now a one club man and that should be respected.

I would have loved to have him but he obviously wanted to stay at Freo.

Can we now get Trigg to place a call to Kosi's manager asking a couple of questions? :D

you're not serious..............are you ??

Did anyone seriously think he would come home?

Oh well shit happens, its time to move on and look at developing what we already have.

It would have been great to get him but this is almost a relief to hear. The current system makes it an easier task to climb Mt Everest than complete a trade for someone like Pavlich, and now we can move on. I just hope we now forget about him for good. I don't want to be giving up the world for him next time when he's 27/28.

Until now I've always thought he would, one day. He's been pretty open about the possiblity that he would. And Chris Connolly had always seemed pretty convinced he would too. I still think he might one day but no longer hope it is with us due to the age he will be.

Good that a decision has been made and we can forget all the crap about trading some of our players. Developing those is now the priority. And no more suggestions about trading for broken down Vics..

Meesen, Mattner and our first round pick for Fevola?

Probably second rounder as well.

Wizard; Rutten is a massive unit, but he can play on smaller forwards as well, he's very quick for such a big rig.

I personally think Fevola is only worth a first round draft pick and an average young player like a Pfeiffer.

not meesen our first rounder from a while back, an 07 first round and a good player.

Fevolas baggage equals out to just one pick - for a first round only

Ferk trading, lets stash up on draft picks if anything.

We have a freebie already with walker, might as well try and get 2 or 3 first rounders.

Meesen is worth very little on the trade table now though, maybe a late 2nd rounder.

A good result one would think.
You do not have to sell the farm, plus once your talls get back in Craig will have heaps of choices for CHB anyway. :)

I agree Meesons form has been dismal. for him to be worth something he needed to play a good year for Norwood and a couple of AFL games. For the crows sake they might aswell keep him & try to devlop him into a gem!

woosh what do u think fevola is worth?

I'm saying a first round draft pick alone...
with a player to sweeten the deal. ala Andrew Eccles a few years back with Carlton.

Fev is an interesting one. He is 27 i think so about a year and a half older than Pav. I think a top 8 pick plus Meesen or someone like that.

And best of all, he doesn't go to Port.

Hope they do as well, means we wont have to pay him as much.

Damn you Pavlich!

You could have been knee deep in money, and been a cult hero for a club that has thousands of supporters and has tasted sucess!

But NO! I feel as if I have been slapped in the face
