TBH I wouldn't mind Bentick. Very good in tight around the packs. He's also ranked 3rd in the league for tackles per game. We don't have anyone in the top 30.

was just on the drafts borad and there was a trade

our first pick for leigh brown plus there 2nd and 3rd pick

ok no brown but what about swollow? maybe swollow and first pick for our first pick

the other one was for watts or brooks and a 3rd rd pick for a 2nd round pick

people are wanting 2 trade mcmahon and ray for picks so that could get us a first and 2nd round pick

so lets say we have pick 4 and our 2nd pick is 22 we trade ray and mcahon and get pick 6 and maybe 23 or even 11-14 as the 1st round pick

we would have 4, 6/11-14, 22 and 23-6 and then use the later picks in round 1 and 2 for other trades

No way will we get someone in the same league as either of those guys in the 2nd round. Seriously, those guys are young and good players.

There'd be nothing to gain by doing that.

We have enough of those types.

Ernie's right...we have nowhere near enough of these types and after a key forward, it's the tough, tackling, inside midfielders that the dogs will trade for.
Like the sound of Kelly, worth a look.

Don't scoff at me for this but a 3/4th round pick for Daniel Bradshaw? He'll be fresh and have a couple of years at filling a gap

Notice Kepler Bradley kicking goals up forward for Bendigo Bombers, with Lloyd, Lucas, Gumbleton and Hille his forward options are limited, only young too and with his pace, endurance and build would be a great lead up centre half forward who can compete in the goal square with the the big bodied defenders ....what about a straight trade for Jordy McMahon who will give the Bombers much needed leg speed...both have scope for improvement........thoughts???

Isn't Bradley the butt of all Essendon jokes? I don't know about 'Great lead up center half forward'. I think if we went after him, we might as well go after Kingsley Hunter or Daniel Bandy. Same shite, different bucket. Laycock on the other hand, under-rated in my opinion.

I would take Bradley at the right price. He isn't worth much as much as when he was first drafted. 3rd round or higher.
Essendon tried offering Keplar to West Coast/Freo last year for their first rounder.

.... needless to say, it failed miserably.

It was almost as bad as West Coast offering us Michael Gardener in 2005 for our Pick #4. :D

I'm definitely happy with that

Yeah he gets bagged by Essendon, but he just doesn't fit in there. Sheedy continued to try him as a defender and even ruck pinch hitting and wasn't working out. This year he's had next to a full year in the seconds, key forward, and doing really well. Fits the bulldogs much better and has the potential to blossom

What about Cordy's kid. Where is he at?

Ok...i dont want fence sitters on this one. What do doggies supporters WANNA see come draft and trade periods. Im not talking specific players here, just what YOU wanna see the dogs do this year.

Here's my thoughts...

TRADE PERIOD:
a) A KPF who can CRASH packs and take a contested mark.
b) A Ruckman who's mobile and pinch hit up fwd

DRAFT:
a) Best KPF available
b) Hard inside midfielder
c) Developing ruckman
d) Best KPB available
e) Dirtiest,toughest BPocket/mid

Thoughts?

Are your two "a"s incompatible?

ie if we do get a good KPF via trade (and I doubt we will) then we won't have a good first round draft pick.

Let me reiterate...He is useless. So he kicks goals in the VFL, big deal...move on.

During trade week pick up the best KPF available, and a solid tough inside midfielder

Then with our first two picks (which may not be the ones we began with) pick the best available KPF and the best available tough inside midfielder

It's all well and good finding one of each but let's bolster the stocks and give ourselves options that will multiply in the long term
