I'm hoping between now and draft some pick swapping can occur, either bringing #38 down, or somehow moving to future pick. Can't see the point in keeping it, if it gets swallowed up in Ben Campo pick....
Also sad to see Matt Kennedy go. Head sees logic in this, but heart sad... Loved MK's smile, passion, and what he brought. All the best to Matt at WBs

Well, Kennedy was told to seek a new team. Can’t really complain about Pick 38 as I doubt he would have got much game time next year. Happy for him.

Konstanty trade for Sydney is interesting. Hardly any game time at all but probably talented enough to excel at North. Good trade for them.

Simply wasn’t going to play with pick #3 and Lord likely to take his midfield minutes, and Kemp + Moir taking his forward minutes.

Not the best pick, but the right trade for all involved.

I thought mid 30s was around Kennedy’s value so 38 seems about right to me. Not sure what we do with it though as it’s slap bang in the Ben Campo sweet spot. Not sure how we trade up either given we can’t use our futures.

The reality is that if our midfield stays fit next season. Pick 3 coming in. Lord becoming an important part of our 22. Cerra getting fit. Kennedy probably only plays games when there are injuries.

It's a reasonable deal to get us back into the second round in a strong draft.

A second round pick for a good player who is not best 22 is good for us.

Our recruiting and development just needs to be on point. There will be good players there.

Just gave Kennedy away for nothing. Reeks of list mismanagement. We have players on our list that shouldn't be there and we trade this bloke just to get him off the books and open up a list spot. We already had the points to get Ben Camporeale. I hope Austin has a plan to trade the pick during live trading to pull a rabbit out of his hat.

Pick 38 seems a bit low for Kennedy but I trust Austin has the overall strategy happening to make it worth it. No way we keep 38 with the risk of a club bid before that eating it up, so guessing we trade it for a future pick or someone upgrade it to the 20s range (not sure how though since we can’t trade any more future picks).

38 is about right. We can always trade the pick into next year's draft before or during the draft.

There'll be four picks ahead of 38 which gets swallowed up for sure with academy bids, so it will become 34. We might (just) get to use it.

I think Kennedy will be a good fit at the Bulldogs and will do well. On a personal level he’s better off with a 3 year contract than being dicked around like he was this year.

Matt Kennedy is a player we have ample cover. Releases some valuable salary cap space. Ben Campo, pick 3 plus Lord will all get opportunities at different stages next season.

Surely the Kennedy trade means that we look to do some pick swaps ahead of the draft to bring 38 in a little bit. Perhaps swapping of a pick to then push out out next pick a little bit. Maybe some future pick swaps as well while keeping a pick in each round to meet AFL regulations.
