Who is writing him off?

This sort of post is easy to generate likes but is just really lazy and disingenuous.

All that has occurred in this thread is people highlighting areas of concern in his first season but no one is saying he can’t or won’t make it. So stop with the hyperbole.

But yeah the James Hird comparisons certainly help things.
More of those so everyone can be happy and everything is perfect.

TPA said "Duursma has to get an appetite for the contest otherwise his career will be shorter than expected."

In my opinion those are the sort of comments that start peop0le second guessing as to whether or not a player is going to make it.

What were the offers? Current and F1 for 3?

The Melbourne offer was Pick 6 and F1 (pick 5 this year).

The Hawthorn one was Pick 4 and their second rounder. We tried to live trade back into the draft around that pick to get Morris but nobody accepted.

Ridiculous? Need to selectively quote and remove things to try and back up your statement/lie. Here is the full quote,

What I said isn’t even close to writing him off, the post literally says early call, could easily be wrong and long way to go. The opinion was expressed in relation to judging Thursfield with an emphasis on saying its too early to call for most of his stuff.

Happy to put my positive and negative opinions on players out there. If others get upset about someone posting something that isn’t rainbows and lollipops about one of our players then so be it. Personally thought there was no way Archer would make it after season 1 and couldn’t be any happier to be wrong about a player. Just an opinion, I’ll get some right, I’ll get some wrong but not going to just pretend everyone and everything at the club is perfect.

He’s the inverse of Kayne Turner.

Highly skilled with a penchant for skirting contested situations.

That may have something to do with his light frame, his horrific fitness levels or his lack of desire to enter physical contests.

It’s not writing someone off to make an observation on a part of their game that may limit their growth potential.

Yep, you are spot on, and if apollo_creed had of said it that way it would have probably held more weight.

However, calling out a first year player who is undersized physically, who has limited fitness, was asked to take on a senior players responsibility as a lead up marking target and having shoulder issues (despite being nominated for mark of the year and kicking some great goals) as being a bust in his drafted position is very short sighted.

The point I was making, is that if he doesn’t become more physical, he’ll struggle.
