I thought Williams looked pretty good super fit I missed the the plays you mentioned in my head I marked him as flying.
The one that concerned me was Ollie everything you noticed plus kicking took his mouth guard out threw it in the air in disgust at a turnover out of the back line then repeated it 2 more times missing targets.
He doesn’t punch low balls there straight but floaty and high.
His long kicking into the forward line was better looks to have a bit of penetration with a bit more size
A big problem for Ollie is that to use the ball well he often needs time to balance up…..and you often don’t have that time in the backline. He spent have the lateral movement or straight line speed to make space for himself. I think it’s a big problem.

Ollie Hollands disposal is still poor on that vision (15.22 seconds mark under no pressure). Can't afford turnovers at half back in the modern game. I wonder if Lucas Camporeale will be a viable option down the track. Looks like a great ball user.
Fluffed a couple of shortish kicks, the longer kicks into the forward line looked quite good.

Binns didn’t do his chances any harm and seemed better at hitting his targets with short passes. Will be interesting to see if he gets a fair crack in the seniors this year.

Lid has blown way off for me regarding Jagga, just from watching clips!!!!! Gathers the ball off his toes with cat like reflexes, looks like he already knows where he wants the ball to go in an instant, then lightning speed footwork positions his body to get it there. He reads the play, like a chess player who can see many moves ahead of his opponent. He also has that body language that says, “ I know I’m good,” the sort of player that’d annoy me, if he wasn’t a Carlton player, but he is so I love him! Hands off everyone, he’s mine! 😍

The body shape of many of our players looks better too, after only a few months, under Innes. Many players look thicker through the legs and glutes which will help immensely with generating power! Weitering was already a beast, prior to this preseason, but now he’s going to go full Wolverine in 2025. Should start growing the chops!

Might seem strange but his feet move independently.
He doesn’t think through evasion it’s automatic his feet are dancing instinctively as he surveys options for disposal.
Some players think about getting out of trouble then think of disposal.
Yes definitely a professional(focussed)........very nice get by the looks of things

Ollie killing it. IMO needs some more awareness but ball use greatly improved and getting better. Loving him off HB (who’d have thought 🤔)

Lucas has been bloody impressive and looks the type that will step up when needed

Charlie having appt tomorrow to check knee. Club confident no issue but got a knock on it so checking. Been extremely cautious this pre season. Was flying early in match sim

Plan is not to play next week. Possibly half a game against GWS and then play Tigers although he wants to play

Rumours of on going concerns 100% BS

Just watched a few of the vids, anyone else worried about the lack of defensive pressure in almost all of the videos?

Just looks like a focus on speed. Anyone at the training able to comment better?
Other sessions have been extremely physical. Likely just the focus of the day re quicker ball movement.

Stood out to me, players had ample time to make decisions and skill execution, hopefully that was the plan for this weekend and gets a bit more pressured from next week or 2.

Lucas was very impressive. Also very composed.

The weekend was about supporters, going through paces and working on different things. Bit like Captains run. When they allow full on tackling they go hard. Can’t do that all the time with a long season ahead

Not an issue
