Modraaaaa
Watched on the Couch with Mod’s again l the other night. Girls ringing his doorbell at 1 am at night until he
Disconnected it. Followed home every night and he had to leave the state in the 8 weeks they got off a year.

He never got 20 weeks off a year and needed to have his balls kicked in for him to kick 130. :moustache:

Reckon we may have got a very small glimpse of a role change for Max before dislocation of his thumb.
May have been given licence to run the ball out from half back a bit more and think is in for a great year.
Dawson finishing quarters floating across half back in dead time looks to become a standard like so many clubs are doing now and Dan Curtin genuinely exciting and a chance at Rising Star this year. Peatling living up to expectation showing what
has been known for ages now given a chance at a club that needs him.
Hopefully his thumb isn't too bad then, because if it's broken and he's out for 6... that would suck.

I reckon moving to pre-used sherrins is a good move. They’re easier to handle and kick, which will improve match skills and make the game a higher quality which is what everyone wants to see.

If Nicks selects him round 1, that should be grounds for instant dismissal.

Seriously he shouldn't be in our top 30.

Players outside my top 23 ahead of Murphy
Pedlar
Jones
Milera
Taylor
Berry
Schoenberg
Bond
Nicks can be stubborn as a mule and doesn't seem to actually let performance dictate who he picks. He's got "traits" that he wants and Murphy ticks his big ones with effort, teamwork and experience. Now those are all a credit to Murphy, but at the end of the day he's a guy who struggles to execute beyond the simple things and disappears in big games, especially in the 4th when things heat up.

It's a decent indicator we'll get to start the year to see if his thinking (or the groups thinking) has evolved any or not. I would hope Murphy isn't in the team, but I have so little faith in Nicks abilities as a coach at this point I can just imagine him itching to bring Murphy back the first chance he can get, even if he doesn't start the year in the 22. The first sign of a young player having a bad game and he'll drop him like a hot potato for Murphy, who once he's in seems to have the longest leash on earth when it comes to selection.

No chance that Curtin starts in defence - 0

There was always a chance Rachele wouldn’t play midfield with Rankine going in there and Soligo having a huge pre season

Similar to Sholl, Soligo has progressively furthered how far he can perform into a season. I won't be surprised if he's in the AA squad convo come end of year.

The board doesn’t get involved in on field stuff. Unless the board member also has a football department role.
The board's responsibilities are to: 1. Establish a governance framework, including a compliance framework to ensure the organisation meets its obligations. 2. Set the strategic direction to help the organisation achieve its purpose. 3. Oversee financial performance of the organisation.

No, you're wrong. Particular board members chair football strategy and list management committees. They very much drive operational decision making via those committees. I'd do less googling and more thinking for yourself.

I get the impression from the match sim line ups that in Nicks view he is currently outside the 22 but only just, one missing forward and he is next in. Not where I'd rank him but I'm not on selection panel.

Sure would

Interesting ? Would be do we bring in Nank (better replacement for that rebound) or bond (lockdown, maybe better overall defensive mix)

Hopefully we don’t need to find out

That's something I like

In built, pre-planned flexibility. Doesn't rely on spur of the moment intuition. A mix of stability that you need but some different gears

Like Embley/Hunter forward...

Just watch him run over first 10 metres then it becomes obvious he’s not

We got genuine speed / power in our side now finally
Yep. I thought the same thing as Coopers but then he started running away from his opponent instead of immediately getting caught and rushing a disposal.

Watching the trial again now and Schoenberg looks noticeably beefier.
In a good way, not a fat way. He looks like a solid unit rather than unfit. He did well.

The issue is he’s now an unrestricted free agent, if he gets an opportunity and plays well, we can lose him for nothing.

Just had to keep Smith on the main list.

Yeah when Berry flubbed that kick in the backline, I thought it was a top up player because I didn't recognise him. Looks in ripping shape. Still the same problems with his game though.
Bloke should have 100% been traded for hopefully a late second or whatever we could get from him to try and grab the likes of Dodson. Think he's hit his ceiling, and that ceiling will forever be just a solid C grade foot solider. Very little scope for further growth or improvement imo.

Cash in now and get us a god damn developing ruck

Think Schoenberg would prefer to stay at the Crows... but understand if he wanted to leave for more opportunities.

If his preseason form translates into the real season, then suspect he should play plenty of games as we will need to use depth... & he could force his way into our best side.

Big year for him, but at least it appears he has done everything right to have a decent year.
