Rudest:

Luke Ball. I was playing soccer with friends in a local park many years ago, I believe Luke was retired at this point. A wayward pass (not mine) went all the way to the feet of a gentleman in the distance. The guy looked at the ball and then turned back around to his dog without kicking it back to us. I ran over to retrieve it and saw that it was Luke Ball. Extremely poor behaviour.

Nicest:

James Hird. In the exact same situation, Hirdy ran out of his way to get our ball and pass it back to us while also giving us the thumbs up. Legend status confirmed.

Robert Walls - one of the nicest people you will ever meet. A true gentleman.

The Shane Stremple thing does give the impression he was a prick but having watched so much of him on On The Couch back in the day, he did come across as a very well spoken, thoughtful, decent guy.

Can confirm.

He sat in an airport waiting lounge next to my mate. My mate said absolutely down to earth champion bloke up for a yarn.

Whilst 1991 might not seem that long ago it truly was a different era. I think the Strempel incident was absolutely vile and effectively ended his career I do wonder how often this happened at other clubs. I don’t think Walls was alone in these hardline coaching tactics.

No I don’t either. And it was awful, you shouldn’t be doing that to anyone irrespective of what led to it.

Joel Smith and Matty Lappin - had a messy session with them both at Thursday night Chevron $1 spirits back in May 1998.

Clinton King, Glenn Freeborn - loved it! Good blokes.

Andrew Pugsley - chatted to him at Jooce Nightclub back in the day. Lovely bloke

David Clarke - had a good chat at a pub in Geelong. Ripping bloke.

Mick McGuane - bumped into him st the Mercury Lounge around 2am around January 1999. Was wearing trackies and mocasines whilst drinking Champaign. Top bloke Mick.

Lazar Vidovic - had a chat at Caulfield races many moons ago. Top bloke.

Vidovic isn't a top bloke if you know his history, not talking about footy where he was a bit of a loose cannon as well

Jezza McGovern let me push past him at Malaga markets. Such a top bloke.

Scott Cummings was a massive self blower when I met him. Complete f. Wit.
It's a fair point you make, "when you met him": you meet anyone on a bad day and they can come across as a tosser.

I met Lou Richards when I was a wee boy at the zoo (neither of us was a resident!), and he wasn't in the mood. I hear from others he was kind and generous. No reason to disbelieve it. Just not to little Cyclops :(
