No reason to think Anderson wouldn't have enjoyed a career like Healy's and then been replaced by Gilchrist for the same reasons maybe a year two earlier.

It shouldnt be hard for the commentators to get some info on the players- lots of them dont seem to have a clue.

As for Ray Phillips - he must have been a gun players and much better than this current generation hey Ray. Im sick of listening to him being so critical of everyone except for Jimmy Pierson. He deadset loves the bloke and hates most of the other players, especially the younger ones.

He is your typical results focussed viewer and commentator and seems to have no idea of the process. Fast bowlers shouldnt bowl bouncers because it limits their options of taking wickets - nice one Ray. Bowler bowls a back of a length ball and beats the bat - not good enough for Ray. He pitches one up and its a half volley that swings and he beats the bat - says its the perfect length. Next delivery, the Bowler bowls the same ball but the batter drives it for a four and he says - terrible bowling. The most annoying commentator Ive ever listened to

Wasn’t Anderson very injury prone? Particularly broken fingers?

You can’t have a keeper like that.

Anyway, it was quite an era for QLD keepers.

Going back to the 80s you have
Phillips, Anderson, Healy, Seccombe, Hartley and Peirson.

Hartley and Seccombe are first and third on the all-time Shield dismissals tally. Berry is second.

Pierson should enter the top 10 by the end of this season.

Guess who leads the run scoring to this point of the season?

Matt Renshaw with 303 at 60.6.

He really should be in the frame for the ODI side. Can bat in any position, pretty consistent, and frankly better than most of the anointed ones.

Also easily young enough to play the next World Cup.

I think George Bailey gets a buzz out of making random and weird selections - must make him feel powerful.

It also seems like he reads newspapers and social media and gets some of his whacky ideas from there...

Im also gobsmacked on occasion when the so called expert commentators like Ponting, Waugh, Gilchrist have a huge opinion on who should be in the test team but openly admit when talking about youn players that they have never really seen them play. Surely not hard to get a Kayo subscription and watch Shield etc when its your job to be informed on such things?

Or am I asking too much?
