Good opportunity for someone like Jay Boyle.

Played some very good SANFL footy and now potentially runs around with some quality AFL players.

No injuries, I'd be happy if we mixed the side up every quarter.

I went to Alberton last year to see the Pear v Crows match sim/scratchie.

After three “sixths” there was a long break and both sides replaced the majority of their A team. There was only a couple of points the difference at that time. The Pear finished the H&A in second spot, we finished 15th.

The predictive value of these ‘games’, imho, is zero. The best we can hope for is no injuries and to blow out the cobwebs.

Maybe 21 if Sholl is more injured than we think

Sholl is interesting, it's hard to know how embedded he is. There's a sliding scale in term of the amount of weeks able to be missed and return straight into the 1s. NFI where Sholl sits. Recent match sim and internal trial hints towards Jones being the immediate benefactor if Sholl misses through injury.

So McAndrew playing as one of our SANFL players in tonights game.. Im so confused. Has he decided to play with Adelaide as an SANFL top up and not Norwood. Maybe we draft him mid year if there is a spot.

He has not signed on to be an AFC top up player, he is a Norwood player training with us. Not sure the deadline, but if Strachan doesn't find himself on the inactive list very soon, McAndrew will be with the Redlegs soon.

Taking the wife and kids along for a look tonight. Young kids and one was already knackered last night (first year of school) so dunno that we'll stay for the whole thing but will be good to hopefully get a look at how the A team is travelling.

I think we WILL draft him if we have a spot.

As far as im aware though, he's still a Norwood player.
If we don't make a spot by the SSP deadline today the next opportunity is the MSD but that won't stop another team with an earlier pick cutting our lunch and taking him from under our noses. It happened this week with a SSP player training with a club who was snaffled by another club.

Yeah I should have put a caveat on that.

I think drafting him would be the plan, but not all plans work.

I’m a broken record on this. So apologies to all…

If, after recruiting Cumming, having Milera fit, Hinge without a position locked down and Curtin humming, we still revert to Chayce f$&kibg Jones in one of the most important positions on the ground, then nicks is a lost cause. Same shi$, different year.

Cumming and Sholl arent playing this afternoon.

Calm your farm.

And again with Jones, IF he can recapture his 2023 form after a year of injury and some personal issues early on, then he's more than capable of playing in the side. Now if it were Lachlan Murphy, thats a different story.

I reckon Sholl looks likely to miss.

In 2023 he averaged 17 disposals and rated ‘average’ or below average in almost every category. He had a good season by his standards. He lacks footy IQ. Gets lost around the ball. Positioning is terrible and goes missing for weeks on end. He’s just not part of our future. If he was pick 60 in his draft, he would have been delisted by now.

If he proves me wrong, good on him. But I’m not seeing it.

Everytime he pushes down back he reverts to the Brodie Smith "just bomb it out the area to get rid of it" method.
