Port dropped Soldo? Wasn’t he injured, replaced by Sweet the other ruckman they recruited? Thats right they recruited 2. Then Sweet moved to be no 1, that’s what happens when you have depth.

Goldstein? The 35 ruck? They also have another 2 rucks who are now their no 1 rucks.

So both examples aren’t going into 2025 with their dropped ruckman as their lead rucks, thanks for making my point for me.

As for who cares, yeah no issue carrying a player in your team who has been beaten by a SANFL player all preseason.

Amazing news of Draper's re-signing, it would be lazy recruiting to just grab the out of contract South Australian who sucks rather than going and finding someone better

He is looking fit though and in decent form.

He's always had games, or halves of games, where he's looked great. His issue has always been much more about consistency of effort, weird goofs, and the fact that he's not yet developed the tank to solo ruck.

He wants more consistent midfield game time and his management doesn’t believe the midfield at the suns is the right mix for him.

Wouldn’t cost much you’d think (salary + draft capital), but yeah in the distant-ish future guys like Draper/Soli/Peatling/Rankine at the very least will be ahead of him

He'd probably complement those guys pretty well in the more big bodied Matt Crouch extractor role. Believe he was rated pretty highly as part of the Suns academy.

We've offered him a huge deal too , Saints can/will try to match it
Just whether the lure of coming back to SA is enough

This is the reason for us holding firm onto our 2025 first rounder
Being able to trade up to 3 years in advance gives us the collateral to get a deal done
James Gallagher coming onboard will help here too
