On another day it's 5.11.41 to 15.9.99. North win by 58 points.

I was extremely happy with how much we dominated the game. The only reason West Coast had a sniff was because we were so inaccurate. Midfield and our ball movement was fantastic. Sheezel is absolutely ridiculous. Our defence is still shaky, not sold on Corr. Tucker grew into the game. But I still get nervous when him and Lmac have the ball. FOS looks the goods.

Only a preseason. See you all there in 2 weeks.

Being sh1t is a bit of an overstatement imo. Yep a few times his handballs were naff, but I'd reckon they were given in a one two, give and get back situation in an attempt to run the ball. The bloke receiving the ball is generally gonna be hot as the aim is to get it back with the opposition still following the previous handball. Anyway, he's shown that he is a smooth mover and willing to take the game on, has a nice shoe and will become, if not already, a very important player for us. And yes, FOS is an absolute gem of a footballer.
My whole point was that most on this board lay into other players for mistakes, but then seem to give their favourites a pass mark.

If you going to lay into one then lay into them all when they play poorly.

Justifying McKerchers game on the back of Phillips being poor after quarter time is pure cope.

One has all the talent in the world, speed to burn and a great tank and work ethic. The other still can't run a game out in his fifth season and is on a one year deal. Not sure there's any comparisons to be made, they're polar opposites.

Epic melts from a praccy match in Bunbury 😂

He's a 19yr old that had 24 disposals at 63%. Im not sure what you want me to say. Your boy phillips is four years older and had 18 at 61% playing on ball. Colby is going to be one of the best in the comp.
Exactly. Isn't 63% only just below the AFL average? Kerch wasn't shit. He wasn't great but was ok. Definitely not shit.

If he was going under 50% then maybe.
Harley went at 64% and he's the future GOAT..

Probably the same people claiming Darling was no good and cooked saying Kerch was shit.

So STFU bigfooty.

He may have talent, but until he improves his decision making, he’s nothing but Shaun Atley MkII.

But again you are missing the point. What Phillips does has nothing to do with how poor McKercher was.

It’s like saying Jack Darling was BOG because Larkey was so shit yesterday.

You seem intent on justifying his poor game against someone else that had a poor game.

We looked really good. Usually takes Corr
three or four games to get going and then he's really good.
When corr plays back shoulder, he is way better. Thats what changed ladt year.
He rates his “judgement” and gets torched - like lmac. Both were terrible yesterday - stay in your lane corr

24 disposals at 63% for a 19yr old that's thrown around a fair bit is not a poor game. Shaun Atley wasn't getting those numbers at 25.

Stop quoting stats, he was poor.

Shaun Atley wasn’t padding numbers with one two’s that didn’t help the team.

Having 15 handballs you would hope that you are going better than 63%. Don’t be fooled by Champion Data who call it an effective disposal even if you put your teammate in trouble.

Importantly no injuries and more match conditioning for the players....but a better performance compared to last weeks.

We're an indoor footy team and so we won't really know where the team is at until we see the first couple of games at Marvel.
Which is slightly concerning given finals are exclusively played outdoors.

Hopefully it becomes relevant one day.

Champion Data don't call the handball as effective if the guy who receives it is tackled straight away

He's a 19yr old coming off a brilliant debut season playing a position he's never played before. This pre season he's played half forward, half back, wing and in the middle. He's aggressive with his run and disposal. He will make mistakes, especially when he has no defined position. He's biding his time for his midfield spot.

We'll be nowhere near it for round 1, even with all the Dogs outs.
We'll probably be off the pace, but we should have periods where we create repeat inside 50s, either through winning the midfield or pressing up the way we did for those first two Clarko games before he fell over and everything started to spiral. Phillips to Libba right now seems to me an absolute ****ing no brainer

and Phillips ain't gonna make it. If he can't execute a basic skill with no pressure in a nothing pre-season game, he can't be relied on to get it done in games that matter.
His confidence must be pretty low after last few years. He is building - ill pass judgement round 10. Im backing him to build. His pressure atound the stoppages was pretty good. Which we need. And he gets forward for shots. It will come.

Simpkin will take his spot. He'll be playing VFL.
