So, i've put my hand up to run Lock of the Week this year.
At 40 years old with no kids and a fear of responsibility, I figured after one too many whiskies that it seemed like something I absolutely shouldn't do.
Given the above and being tech savvy, you may think I have embraced AI and used it to generate the wall of text below, for maximum efficiency at the cost of likely a small dams worth of water.
Or perhaps I sat down on a Sunday night, aforementioned whisky in hand and type it out on a keyboard meticuliously searching for the perfect syntax and prose?

This will be the same as last year,
HOWEVER, there may be some changes, pending;
I am willing to take suggestions from participants on variations/improvements on the comp up until 1 week before the 1st game. If someone makes a suggestion and you like it, please like their post or comment with feedback. If there's enough positivity or if it makes my job easier, it will be implemented.
RULES
The rules will basically be the same, pending the above, with a continuation of the Lock of the Week Badge. (I guess I mean I didn't ask anyone, but me and chief are kind of a big deal, so i'm sure it'll be fine.
The competition commences with GAME1. During GAME1 you select one team each round. If they win you progress to the next round. If they lose or draw you are out. You can only select a team once during a GAME. Once GAME1 has a winner we will commence GAME2 and all teams are available again for your selection. Chances are that we will end up playing three GAMES depending on how good we are at selecting the winners.
Last person left standing at the end of each GAME wins entry into the Hall of Fame, naming rights and a badge. Yes, we will be introducing a badge this year which is a Golden Lock.
Submitting your entry
Post the team you think will win in this thread. Include your previous selections in the game. Add your selection to the selection(s) made by other posters before yours. Should you miss placing your selection prior to the first game of the round that’s OK you can always select another team so long as its prior to that team’s start time. If you miss selecting a team for any round, then you have eliminated yourself. You will have to wait until we have a winner, when a new GAME starts.
Finals Version
If we still have eligible players remaining at the end of the minor round, we will continue the competition for those players in the hope of finding an outright winner. If two or more players are still alive for the Grand Final, they will have to also select the winning margin. Should they all correctly tip the winner and the winning margin they will all be deemed, the winner.

Entry into the broom closet is when there is no outright winner and all remaining participants bomb out at the same time. Our current “Near Misses” are:
Geoffa32, AFC979810, arrowman, skam85, Coopers, Doc_, GreyCrow, SugarShane and MatthewB.
The season’s fixture is the same as last year in that the Opening Round commences on the 6th of March with only four matches. This is followed by Round 1 which starts on Thursday the 14th March. You must make your tips for the Opening Round even though there are only four games. Please make sure you are aware of the fixture.
