2025 Membership Thread

Thought I would create a new thread relating to membership for this season.

Post all related membership stuff now to this thread. Hopefully we break the record once again.

Managed to renew today without going through the ticketing agency. That's gotta be counted as a small win.

However after my campaign last year to stop them auto-renewing (I'm pretty sure auto-renewing without asking is a ticketing agency rort, not a club directive) I relented and gave them my CC details this year. It took 8 months to sort out a direct payment alternative last year and I wasn't prepared to go through all that again. Not really blaming the club though - the membership team is always very helpful.

So I imagine Pricketmaster will again be putting their hand in my pocket for the 2026 season without first seeking consent.

Just purchased a baby membership for the laddie.

Just to be sure though - at no point did it ask me for his name so can anyone tell me if the membership card that supposedly comes with it is just generic (really only for souvenir purposes but just in case it comes with my name on it)

Happy to say, that with better financial health, and a bit more flexibility with work. I will be purchasing my first full membership in a few years, next week. Hopefully we can indeed reach 60,000 and make that the new minimum standard each season.

The club randomly took $190 from me today and I emailed them to have them put it back.

"Thank you for contacting the Western Bulldogs.

We have had a global Ticketmaster issue which we are trying to rectify this issue. I will provide a full refund of $190. We will try to get this into your account as soon as possible"

I had the same and the merchant ID was “Bontempelli-OnlyFans”. I’ve asked the club to put a hold on the refund and, if possible, process another $190.

I bought two before Christmas. You don’t get the supporters pack, all you get is a digital membership, which I am still waiting for. A bit embarrassing as they were Christmas presents.

You can still get Kayo Standard (Kayo One) for $25 a month if you don't need 4k or multiple streams.

I guess it's totally coincidence that Kayo Premium (Kayo Basic) has gone up 14% ($35 up to $40/month) the same year that the AFL agrees to having no FTA broadcasts on any Saturday except the finals.

I had the same issue this morning 2x $190 and 1x $80 for the 3 memberships attached to my card. I rang membership like and got same reasoning being Ticketmaster F-Up and we will refund within 3 business days.

The guy on the membership line was very good and apologetic by the way.

I assume all outsourced to Ticketmaster they should be looking for a different provider in 2026….

No chance. It's part of the ticketing carve-up deal between Ticketek and Ticketmaster, overseen by the AFL.

I doubt we have any say in it.

Marvel is a Ticketmaster venue no matter what event is held there.
AFL own Marvel.

I am happy to pay my full price every year been doing for 64 years (although some these were junior membership) and for the club to gain additional membership with special offers. Just think they should offer the full paying loyal members something for their support. Even if they offer a priority over discounted membership on grand final tickets after the guaranteed grand final ticket members if the dogs make the big dance. I know they give free social membership for 50 year plus consecutive members

Just think full paying members should get some advantage over discounted memberships.

Logic says that after a few years of these SEN special club days most GA supporters would learn to hold off joining until the discount membership sales. Hence the club should end up forgoing revenue they might have got with full price tickets. There's also the risk that full-paying members who join immediately each off-season lose faith in the club for not giving them anything back for their unswerving loyalty and full-priced memberships.

The fact that the club persists with these days suggests to me that it must still be a good value proposition for the club. That is, it must bring in a lot of members who wouldn't otherwise have joined.

Has anybody heard any discussion of the economics of all this? Or are the $99 memberships only open to first time members?

Well it’s not on offer to me because the club takes my money each year whether I approve it or not!
