I am happy to pay my full price every year been doing for 64 years (although some these were junior membership) and for the club to gain additional membership with special offers. Just think they should offer the full paying loyal members something for their support. Even if they offer a priority over discounted membership on grand final tickets after the guaranteed grand final ticket members if the dogs make the big dance. I know they give free social membership for 50 year plus consecutive members

Just think full paying members should get some advantage over discounted memberships.
How much would the $99 membership be before the sale? It’s pointless comparing it to my Gold membership and I have no idea what a regular GA membership would cost.

Well it’s not on offer to me because the club takes my money each year whether I approve it or not!
That's fixable, but they make it hard to do. I dd it last year. It only took 8 months of perseverance.

However if you are buying gold memberships then it doesn't sound like the radio deal is for you anyway.

I've just moved back to the city from the country & had a long distance membership that cost me $26 a month 'Bulldogs for Life' for 6 games. Now I can pay $9 a month for 9 games.... I end up giving the club less money for a better product. Which doesn't feel right. But I'd be silly not to do it.

I can't be bothered ringing the club as the phone lines will be going off today. But if I choose this offer will my new membership override the other one? I don't want to pay for two memberships.

I don't think it would override.

I am not sure if you can get this if you have been a previous member, it’s targeting new members I thought, could be wrong.

Logic says that after a few years of these SEN special club days most GA supporters would learn to hold off joining until the discount membership sales. Hence the club should end up forgoing revenue they might have got with full price tickets. There's also the risk that full-paying members who join immediately each off-season lose faith in the club for not giving them anything back for their unswerving loyalty and full-priced memberships.

The fact that the club persists with these days suggests to me that it must still be a good value proposition for the club. That is, it must bring in a lot of members who wouldn't otherwise have joined.

Has anybody heard any discussion of the economics of all this? Or are the $99 memberships only open to first time members?
My guess is that they want to attract fence sitters and turn them into long term members. Not sure how successful it is. However, if you sit on the fence to long you get splitters up your backside.

My son's mate has come along to a few games the last few seasons, usually using someone else's membership ticket.

My son told him he should sign up and sent him this ad

We now have another member, and next year, most probably he'll pay the full price.

It's like a lot of business tactics, it's harder to get them then it is to keep them

That's a valid point but the corollary is that once you've got a customer you should do whatever you can to keep them because it will cost a lot more to replace them.

So if flogging off cheap memberships on SEN pisses off a large number of full-paying members you've already got you'd better have a good story to square off with them. I haven't seen any evidence of the club doing that yet.

Maybe it's only for new members as suggested. So why doesn't the club make that clear? It could save a lot of anger and hand wringing.

Hi Guys,

Having purchased the bulldog blitz membership offer can someone help an old fart out and let me know how to upgrade your seat for a particular round to a reserved one if available through Ticketmaster?

Any help would be appreciated

Go to the match you want to attend.
At the top of the page it should have Are you a member?
and Unlock Member Tickets.
Click on that and input your barcodes.
It should bring up a range of seats at various prices (less admission cost).
As I remember I think it might list most expensive first.
Sometimes you can select on the map, others it will allocate seats.
If you’re not happy with the allocated seats it’s ok to cancel and try again.
Cancel, don’t just go back as I think it will say you’ve already used the codes. You’d have to wait til it releases those seats again.

You can usually buy extra tickets at full price of course.

Hope that helps, they tend to make it a bit confusing pushing you towards the most expensive seats.

thanks mate, I have found the barcode on my tickets and putting it in but for some reason Ticketmaster is saying its not validated. Maybe it could be that due to being GA I can't update to a reserved seat yet?

Double check the barcode with the clubs membership department

Remember the old days when we used to get customer service? You’d actually talk to a real person and if there was something wrong they’d help solve it for you on the same call. Instead of leaving you to figure it out for yourself.

Ain’t the latest technology wonderful? Hasn’t it really enhanced our lives!

The good news is that you can still get old-fashioned customer service from the WB membership line. A rare thing indeed.

Yep, looks like they have gone to everyone no matter how long you have been a member ( I got 2, one for my 50+ years membership and one for my 15+ years membership)

Thanks lads, club stuffed up and I was given invalid tickets with incorrect barcodes, all sorted now! Cheers!!

What’s with our club and barcodes after last year’s debacle 🙄

Can people see their tickets for this weekend in My Digital Card on the app ?
I’m logged into my Dogs and Ticketmaster accounts but get a “Something went wrong” message. It’s been like that for a few days.

I can see all my other concert and sports tickets in my normal Ticketmaster a/c.

It doesn’t really matter at the moment as we have our members cards, but could be an issue for some people on the night.

I got this email - consecutive member since 1996.

1961 is impressive!

I got it. Link didn't work, just a black Ticketmaster screen.

The technology used by AFL, ticketing agencies and clubs is inferior to the mainframes I started my IT career on in the mid 80s.

Just wanting to clarify, given some people are talking about seat allocation for the Pies game. I have a GA membership, will I be able to walk in on the night? Or do members have to book a seat?

You do not have to book a seat.

The seat allocation talk is that members with reserved seats at Marvel are able to reserve a seat at the MCG.
