This is my Christmas. Excited to see Lions in person today.

I do not think the contest will be as tight as the betting odds are, besides a Joe Daniher out, this team is healthy.

I read an ABC article a few years back (couldn’t find it again) that talked about Fagans attempt to reshape the lions forward line weekly based on personnel matchups and how similar success was achieved at Hawthorn with a rebalance of goal scoring players in the departure of Franklin.

What we need is a healthy mix of contribution by our “small” forwards, which most lions fans have claimed to be our most tightly contested position for spots.

Hawthorn last night has proved it, so now it’s our turn!

Gold Coast lads spotted at OOL this morning en route to Perth. Seems a bit odd they'd fly over today. Real smash and grab mission evidently. I must admit I much prefer the way we go about it, of flying over a couple of days before the game. Just seems like such a long way to go simply to fly in and fly straight out. I reckon the jetlag would impact your performance a bit as well.

Anyway had a brief chat with Sam Collins... Apparently their ground was in good nick this week. Seems like a good bloke.

TBH I can’t see why, when Sydney are in predominantly white, that we should have to wear white at all.

I guess their away record was so bad last week they are trying to mix it up, change the process and find something that works for the playing group. I hope they win, for Qld footy and get them through this "cant win away from home' issue.

One of the few times we don't have to wait till 1 hour before the game to find out the sub

Sydney has injury worries early in the season and are coming off a bad loss.
So, playing them at this time is a big advantage.
We should get the win, but games are not won on paper.

As a team we don't have many weaknesses. Individually we are pretty good too.

Had to check the schedule, because you made it sound like they play this afternoon.

Charlie has been playing a defensive forward role - his unselfish play has been massive.

The 9.2 and 30 in the practice game was against the 2s, so it needs to be taken with grain of salt.

However, I think charlie is now playing more time as a deep forward in an attacking role. Bring on country roads.
