Yeah, so dumb.

I hate it. All we ever heard from as far back as season 1 was it was designed as a 3 season show, and it concluded on an excellent note. But I guess all integrity goes out the window when money is involved, so ridiculous.

The biggest thing that worries me is now that they’ve broken their own rule of “3 season show”, it has the potential to go on and on for multiple seasons. Season 4 could very well turn into a 7 or 8 season train wreck just because they’ve got Apple money backing them.

They should have left it alone.

Getting massive S9 Scrubs vibes from this, and that was a season too long in the first place.
That got ruined by the network forcing them to slap "Scrubs" on the title as much as anything I think

I'm clearly in the minority but I didn't mind season 9 of Scrubs. Obviously nowhere near as good as the earlier seasons but I think if you looked at it as more of a spin off, rather than a continuation, it was ok.

That's what Loons was saying, it basically was a spin off but for some reason they just called it S9.

A spin off doesn't keep the main cast though historically. I think that's what was unique about it.

Scrubs S9 didn't have the main cast though. I think Zach Braff was in a handful of eps and there might have been one or two other continuing characters (as tends to happen with a spin off) and that was it.

Donald Faison, John C McGinley appeared in all 13 eps. Braff appeared in 6 out of 13. Ken Jenkins appeared in 9 of 13, Chalke in 4 of 13. The main cast was there through really large parts of that season.

It really should've been more of a spin off but I can see why they just ran with season 9.

Faison and McGinley were the only two who signed on as regulars, which as I said, happens a fair bit with spin offs (having a couple of the original cast transitioning over). The others were on as guests only. I mean, Lawrence himself said to treat the 9th season as a new show and wanted it called Scrubs: Med.. Your original point was that it should be viewed as more of a spin off so not sure why you're now arguing that it wasn't. :tearsofjoy:

There were far more appearances by regulars than an ordinary spin off. Take something like Suits LA - Gabriel Macht is currently the only original character appearing and even then, it's for 3 eps. Scrubs only didn't have Judy Reyes appear out of their main cast, in a 13 episode run.

I believe it should be viewed as a spin off, I feel like people don't like it because they were expecting exactly what Scrubs had been.

It's not seen that way (in my opinion) and I understand why. I just disagree with that notion.

Yeah I think they scrambled a bit and got Braff and others to come back once it was clear ABC wasn't prepared to treat it as a spin off.

You think it works better viewed as a spin off, Loons pointed out the fact it was only considered S9 because ABC forced them to call it S9, Lawrence, who created it thinks it should be seen as a spin off despite what ABC did with it. I don't really know what's being argued here. We're all agreeing it was basically a spin off in all but name.

Congratulations mate. Welcome to hell*

*mostly kidding ;)
Haha, yeah two is gonna be a totally different ball game. Our eldest isn't the greatest sleeper (usually wakes up about 5), and sometimes fights her naps or takes ages to go down.

Parenting, huh?

When you get really lucky, they'll sometimes nap at the same time...which is when you might think you'll get something done but inevitably you end up sitting on the couch, exhausted, waiting for them to wake up haha.

The month I was off with number 2, I ended up taking naps with number 1. I bloody missed that when I went back to work haha
