Your normal response.

Are you suggesting that no one on this Board was critical of the lack of game time in his first two years?

What about Curtin?

To quote Sam Darcy’s pre-draft profile

“Whilst most light on 204 cm draftees resemble Bambi on Ice, the 18 year old is fluent in his movement and showcases wonderful balance in open play.

“His rate of development over the last couple of years has been a sight to behold and will put him in good stead to PLAY EARLY ON IN HIS AFL CAREER”

Of course the injuries had no impact on the number of games he played.

Silly people.

I think McDonald turns out to be a solid player, not a star but a good contributor. Almost every side in the league would want Thilthorpe in their side, in fact they all would.
I was one of those that wanted us to pick one of TT and McDonald, and was worried abot TT's injury history.

Glad to be proven "wrong".

There’s a lot of talk about Darcy from the Bulldogs being the next big thing. I’m very happy we’ve got Thilthorpe on our team. Has added the body since his knee injury and seems to have kept the athleticism. A couple of times he came up with the ball having initially been out of position - including that follow up and handpass to set up Soligo’s goal. Could be All-Australian this season.

Was worried when we traded RT he would play like a nice guy - have good skills but play too nice

However - he turned himself into a Beast and plays like a Beast

Last years knee injury may turn out to be a blessing in disguise- he used that period to out on size and he plays with that size

TBF - they're both cracking players

Crouch is more than capable of hitting a decent i50 kick.

He is, but he rarely finds himself forward of the contest with ball in hand. So it’s harder for him to kick low like we saw when Rankine hit up TT. Although ‘stand’ helps.

It’s unbelievable that for years we slapped ourselves on the back because we won stoppages when all we were doing was hacking forward. After Danger left, only Lyons was capable of being on the move and getting through the stoppage on foot and we valued him as a fringe mid and packed his bags for a junk pick.

The thing that stands out for me so far this year is the superb delivery into the forward line. Couple that with the fact that our forwards are making multiple leads and making space instead of waiting for the ball to fall on their heads and we look a very potent side.

TT is the bloke we’ve needed with our forward delivery over the years.
Can reach for the sky when we’ve kicked it over the head and can get it on the ground when we’ve delivered it at their feet.

Just in time for Dawson, Rankine and Soligo to lace blokes out...

If this bloke was Victorian and out of contract at the end of this year surely there would be a lot of talk of a mega 8 year type deal at 1.5m ish per year? Wonder what his long term deal is with us? Must be 1m per year or close to I would think esp if offering NWM 1.25 and Cumming (seemingly quite overpaid but thats FA and it did also allow us to get Peatling) 800k ish per year

So thankful we have so many gun SA boys now that love and supported our club before being drafted / traded to us, and the most promising Vic lads (Rachele, Soli, Worrell) have contracts until at least 2027 (Worrell) and 2029 (Soli and Rachele).

He's capable of kicking goals too but I wouldn't be spruiking it as a feature of his game. If Crouch is the man delivering the ball to our forwards, something went wrong.
Id much rather him spotting up forwards on a 20-25m kick than having shots at goal.

Its a good thing that he's 10th in line (probably) in that category, shows how much talent we have on the list.
