Not sure how long the board members are voted on for. In 2020 there were five candidates for the election of three board members and Judd, Townshend and Campbell were successful.

There is a sub board of some sort that vets candidates to determine suitability. The latest person added to the board was Helen Kurnicic who was deemed suitable and replaced Craig Matheson (fortunately) in 2024 . Board stability is a good thing though. Anyone can apply to go on the board if they pass the criteria. However we don't just want anyone on there.
Thanks BigFrizz. 2020 is the answer then. It felt longer than that.

Oh good, an investment banker. Those guys have elite mad skillz and would you believe it, he is even a "values-based leader with a collaborative focus on building organisations with strong cultures and alignment to stakeholder interests".

Those types of leader are so important for a football club. I assume we'll win the next 10 straight premierships now we have an investment banker at the helm

I take it you don't want an investment banker as a club president?

I am not so bothered who our president is. It’s a figurehead position.

At the end of the day, who our president is doesn’t prevent us from winning a flag. Only our players and bad coaching can do that.
All true. That said might take a bit before I can warm to him, hard to explain why. All of the presentation feels so kinda corporate and manufactured (ala the pollie style photos with the players). I suppose it always is really, but I dunno... don't wanna seem like I'm picking on the guy that's literally just stepped into the role over a guy who had scandals including his wiener plastered over the internet, any replacement is a net positive, but I just don't know what to think yet.

Interesting that Rob Priestey has indicated that he will flip his main residence to mainly Melbourne to be president. "I'm still chairman of JP Morgan, I will have to go back to Sydney on certain days and weeks, but I would look to flip that so as president of the Carlton football club I'm down here in Melbourne " he said.

Women appointees seem to get a tick and no comment on here - probably because people are unaware that women have their own Directorship mafia going on on - and good on them for organising themselves into the trough which used ot be male only domain, why should males have a monopoly on big pay for nothing and no Directoes at Carlton dont get paid anything- they do it for the love of football and if you believe that you also believe in peace love and Santa's elves.

As for Priestly- the positive is (dont forget that JP Morgan are a second/third tier firm in OZ) that he has some connections to the broader Sydney scene which is a tad more slick when it comes to greasy underhanded and crooked dealings- and less reliant on government funding - which is good thing because basically Vic is bust as far as as govt money goes ...don't worry about Priestly's other responsibilities- they are like most Directors -tick the box mate STFU and cop your inflated pay package there thats a good boy/girl or whatever.

As long as the Cook > Wright handover goes smoothly, Voss gets Carlton to a prelim ( or better) - which means his coaching stint last another couple of years - there will be no need for radical change and the ship stays steady- which is a better plan than an unsteady ship - as long as the team performs.

So basically you're saying they've reached equality, and the next issue is oligarchy

it is more like Orwell suggested in Animal farm - all animals are equal some are just more equal than others...

Am sure we’ve all read the AFR article about presidency
Verrrry interesting bit at the bottom, thought this was just my mind pushing it, didn’t know it’s had been whispered in media land:
“Former Sydney Swans coach John Longmire is tipped to replace Carlton coach Michael Voss if things keep going badly.”
