Bit of both. Will need to bat well.I have watched any of it, just following the score. Is the wicket a minefield or is it just good bowling.![]()
Lets hope its the latter. Dumb shots from Marnus, Usman and a stupid run out helped.I have watched any of it, just following the score. Is the wicket a minefield or is it just good bowling.![]()
**** that. Hope we make 1000Conflicted. Hope we get 300 plus in reply but also excited to watch future fast bowling superstar Vidler bowl.
9/86 is insane.
What a gutsy decision to bowl first - well done.
So what happens if both sides are bowled out for under 200?The captains of South Australia and Queensland will both be keeping an eye on the calculator for bonus points equations in the Sheffield Shield final.
In a game besotted with numbers, mathematics will play a key early role when South Australia host Queensland in the Sheffield Shield final.
Both captains - SA's Nathan McSweeney and the Bulls' Marnus Labuschagne - will have an eye on the calculator on Wednesday's opening day at Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide.
Since 2018/19, a bonus points system has been in play, ending the scenario where a drawn result means the host wins the shield.
Instead, if a game is drawn, the title is won by the state securing the most bonus points during the initial 100 overs in the first innings.
Batting teams earn 0.01 of a bonus point for every run scored over 200 in the initial 100 overs; bowling sides get 0.1 of a bonus point for every wicket in the first 100 overs.
South Australia currently have 0.9 points and Qld 0.0
Im currently deleting my messages in a lads group chat regarding the decisionGlad nobody on this thread bagged the decision...
Just thinking about that. Hopefully award it to the higher placed team then...So what happens if both sides are bowled out for under 200?
That would see both sides finish with 1.0 bowling BPs and 0.0 batting BPs.
But then we have to bat...Well I think the bonus point system will be a non issue
Looks like we'll be banking the maximum 1 bonus point from bowling while QLD will get no bonus points from batting.
Never bagged itGlad nobody on this thread bagged the decision...
But then we have to bat...
This could easily end up with both sides claiming 1.0 BPs for bowling, and none for batting.
If both sides are bowled out for under 200 in the first innings, it aint gonna last 5 days. But then we have to bat...

Could be done by Friday, Saturday at the latest. That's what I mean though
We bank maximum points from bowling and from there we can't lose by bonus points because at worst we'll both be on 1 point after the first innings.
Given what QLD have scored, I don't think the points will come into play anyway. It will be lucky to last 4 days I suspect..
Enough time to remove a pitch before the North game...Could be done by Friday, Saturday at the latest.
