From what mansell said they’re really searching for consistency which extends to team selection I guess. Only changes made practically forced. I’d say we’re trying to win some games first half of the year and once the acl guys etc are available we’ll change it up.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. This describes the idea of picking Taranto, Hopper and KMac in the centre. For the Carlton game they switched Kmac out and brought Dow in once we got to 41 points down. But did they learn from that? Insanity!

If Sonsie turns the ball over he will be a perfect replacement for McIntosh in the centre.. In fact, he would be a better replacement for any of our midfielders because they turn the ball over for the whole game.

First half mr sonz turned the ball over every single time second half was better. Macca was really really good only reason he wasn't picked probably match fitness.

Yeah match fitness is lacking, but I agree that he was very good.

With Sonsie, he turned the ball over in the second quarter a lot. But I personally think it was just in the second quarter. His disposals were pretty decent in the other quarters

If they give Sonsie a run through the middle and give Smith a full game then changes are fine.

Add the fact that Dow was a key contributor in our winning against the bloos and he wasn't our worst against Port but somehow he should be dropped because kmac2 performed better against a below standard vfl midfield in Coburg.lol

I wouldn’t say key contributor unless we are happy extending that to pretty much everyone that played in round 1. Nonetheless I think his round 1 and 2 performances are the reason we are holding off from bringing in Kmac2.

Kmac2 is a bit unlucky because he was most likely going to be picked round 1 if injury didn’t interrupt his preseason. But I don’t think it will be an issue as the club clearly rate him for the future (contracted to 2027). Interestingly, almost all our available out of contract players are currently playing AFL.

His call up has nothing to do with McAuliffe not being picked and conflating the two is unfair. Sonsie was basically dropped as they didn’t wanting him spending 2 weeks as sub. He goes back to vfl and is at worst 2nd best on ground. He deserves his promotion back to first team, the moment is about Sonsie and the MC rewarding Sonsie.

Exactly, Sonsie was called up on his own merits and not just because McAuliffe wasn’t match fit. Hope he gets a good shot in the midfield
