Yeah I don't like to pile on him 'but' it seemed to me mostly he was getting beaten in contests, not getting to contests and stuffing up when he got the ballI thought Tom was pretty good around the contest.im not sure he played as badly as many on here are making out. He got up and down the ground and created contests. Yes he didn’t have a great game but by the comments you would think he had a stinker - he didn’t!
Hi mate. I had it as a teen and even after recovery I felt not right for a few months after it.Is the Naughton dilemma down to strength and fitness? He had glandular fever over Christmas from memory, then had calf issues, it’s possible he’s still playing a bit of catch up.

Yes, same happened to me. Even a few years after, I would get quite fatigued every now and then for a short period of time.Hi mate. I had it as a teen and even after recovery I felt not right for a few months after it.
This from a med site on it.
"Tiredness – A feeling of intense tiredness often develops with glandular fever. This can last for more than six months after the infection."
If he had it bad like I did he might not be running on all cylinders firing yet. It can really belt you around.
Pretty simple, he plays well when he hits up at the ball not just point in to the air.You could see Naughtons exasperation every time the ball was kicked to his opponents adavantage. Not sure what he can do about that. Perhaps he needs to get some separation but even so the blame should be equally shared with the mids for his poor performance.
Or he is a young player with under 20 games experience who is taking his time to work into games, which will improve as he gers more experience. It’s like he discovers how to play football in the second half
It won’t get you ahead in this win-by-whatever-means-you-can environment (cough Essendon cough Geelong cough) but Darcy showed he is clearly a fair minded player. It will at least win him a lot of respect. It took a good 2-3 minutes to review, that immediately tells you it isn’t conclusive, hence why umpires call should stand. In the end they probably looked at the way Sam reacted to help make their final decision which is laughable.
It wasn't just Physical, he either marked of impacted marking contests and started following up in the second and third phase of the contest.Got a bit more physical in the last quarter. Doesn’t take much I know.
Yep. 47 points down in 2001 and 40 points down in 2002, won bothThis game was very similar to a couple we played at Geelong back in 2000-1-2.
Does anyone else recall being 51 points down in the 2nd, only to win by a goal or two in one of those matches?
The progression of last night's game felt very similar to that. Must admit I thought we'd win when we slowed the game down somewhat after quarter time.
Also, Sam Davidson's draft frustrations and early positive progress feels incredibly similar to Dale Morris. Hope that continues!
His ruckwork has improved, still needs to improve his follow up in the second and third phase of a stoppage. It is his around the ground that took over 3 quarters to improveWow Timmy had 34 hitouts to TDK's 28. It didn't look like that to me.
Anyone have HO to advantage stats ?

This is what happens when you get a few star players that you have to pay through the nose to retain.Carlton look silly for letting go Matt Kennedy, he’s been a good pickup so far.
It could also be said about us and Jack Macrae but I think it’s actually been the best thing for both parties. Jack is absolutely thriving in his new club playing a role that suits his skill set. Same with Matt Kennedy.Carlton look silly for letting go Matt Kennedy, he’s been a good pickup so far.
Daresay I agree. Let Libba show the way with some mongrel attitude and let Bont do Bont things.Loving the way the team is playing. Just fantastic with great determination and attitude. Like to see Libba remain as captain when Bont returns. He just doesn't give up and is the heart and soul of this Great club.
7 tackles last week, kicks clutch goals. The kid's going to be ok.Great to see sanders in all three games so far really thrive when the result is on the line. Kicking clutch goals, important clearances and links in play that are under a lot of pressure. Shows he is made of the right stuff. Will be a star in a few years time, let’s hope we can hold onto him long term.
11 tackles for Libba. A very Libba-like performanceEven though you don’t want to see Bont miss games. Silver lining is that I’m glad we got to see Libba captain the club.
He is leading how you’d expect a Libba to lead. Like an absolute bulldog. And everyone is following him.
So proud of the boys.
