Do we know that’s the reason though and not Nicks thinking Keane can take Larkey so we don’t need Butts?
I’m the other way, I think it’s a preference to play Keane as the key defender. We saw it when we played Swans and he left Keane on Amarty.I’m always happy to lean on the selection stuff up side, but I reckon there’s a fair bit of doubt with this one given Butts only starting full training in the new year. And it’s home v Roos, why not make sure Butts is G2G in the 2s. We’re still pumping the Roos anyway. Line remains at 39.5.

The point i was trying to make is that Malthouse (WC) valued Cousins extremely highly and kept him off the field for at least the first 10-15 minutes of the game for his own protection in his first yearStarting on the bench is not equivalent to being the sub

Our achilles heel is our lack of quality tall defenders. Once you go past Murray our next best are C graders (at best). A tall defender must be one of the priorities on our October shopping list.
Games on tomorrow mate, must be watching an old one!Enjoying watching this, but the audio glitches on commentary are pretty unacceptable. It's been happening every day!

I knew what you meant.Gah, thought I was in the Sheffield Shield thread!

He used to be good across the deck, as Tex used to be.I thought that was always his go? Maybe I’ve got him confused?
Calling Michalaney and Worrell c gradees is ridiculous.
Worrell can & may be needed tomorrow.I mean, he said tall defenders and neither of them play as a KPD (though appreciate the actual height of Worrell vs Butts, Murray, Keane does muddy the waters somewhat).
Absolutely agree with this, one of our main priorities. Our achilles heel is our lack of quality tall defenders. Once you go past Murray our next best are C graders (at best). A tall defender must be one of the priorities on our October shopping list.
Sorry remind when thy became key position tall defenders.Calling Michalaney and Worrell c gradees is ridiculous.
Murray is injury prone and Keane's game will fall to pieces when the pressure dramatically increases in a final. Borlace isn't AFL standard and Butts seems to be out of favor. As I said, quality tall defenders are a priority in Oct.Honest question - when has it cost us?? Which games did we lose because our 2nd KPD let his forward destroy us.
Yep exactly what I’m saying , butts deemed by high performance staff and coaches of needing more football first and Borlaise fit and in form ready to goAt selection, I think that we back in our system and structure first and don’t worry about individual match ups. Borlase is fit and RTG key defender and he’s replacing a key defender. I don’t think there’s any more depth to the decision. Except that butts is probably not deemed ready yet.
It’s more plausible than the above given the way burgess thinksDo we know that’s the reason though and not Nicks thinking Keane can take Larkey so we don’t need Butts?
