Love your support Jen
So good you turn up for us in Melbourne
Just as an aside, when I was growing up in Victoria you supported your own team and anyone who was playing Collingwood:p
My 2 boys' second team is the Pies
My mother turns purple every time she hears them cheer them on

Please if you are at the game give it to the slime bag run out of town by the wags puts a ring on a local girl and is a sleaze bag you know who….

This is our chance to put the boot in
Just goes to show you can take the turd out of the bowl but you can't polish it.It's always just a turd.
Be forever thankful he and Lynch left.
I know that sounds crazy but it was Touk, Dave and Wittsy who drew the line in the sand fronted them and said to their faces
"If you don't ****ing want to be here then **** off.We don't need you"
That was the turning point for the Club
And if you don't think Dimma is the best thing to have happened to us you haven't been watching.

Haha, thats okay, we can all have a second team sometimes. But I know that pies saying that if you weren't a pies fan, you were against them lol My grandpa (bless his soul) and some of my cousins were blues fans. It was not always a pleasant childhood haha

I am so happy the football cycle has rotated to the point where umpires are no longer frightened to pay frees against Petracca and Matty Rowell now runs away from Oliver making him look like an old fat guy.
I've never forgiven the umpires for gifting that game at Metricon to them in 23

How did we rate Walters and Read's game?

I only saw the first quarter - thought Walter was good.
Read practically unsighted in that period but showed some poise with ball on deck.

Can they be dangerous against a top backline?

Both figuring it out. I don't think either of them will be difference makers this year but their presence atleast means Kingy isn't triple teamed.

Both played their role, plenty of growth in them. Read had a couple of nice contested marks down the line

Another favourite moment from today was when Read took a mark in the last quarter and bizarrely May flew behind him to try and spoil and was so far below Read he just about punched him in the arse.
33yo defender with no hammies flying against a 19yo who is already 12cm taller than he has whose vertical leap is probably a meter higher
When the end comes it comes quick they say.

Feels like we're a much more potent forward line.. mainly due to improving supply and connection from defence-mid
38 goals to 14 different goal kickers and 9 times from 7 different players to kick multiple goals across those 2 games (King x 2, Miller x 2, Long, Read, Rogers, Rioli, Graham)

I reckon we're on track for:

King 60 goals
Long 25-30
Walter 15-20
Read 15-20
Flanders 15-20
Rogers 15-20
Ainsworth ~15
Miller ~15
Graham ~15
Humphrey ~15
Anderson 10 - 15
Weller ~10
Rioli ~10

A pretty good spread - hard to keep the whole forward half down on a weekly basis.

Touk has already kicked 5 of those 15. Could be well over that estimate if he continues to spend good time fwd.

Serious question - did we win the Kalani White Cup today? I know Kalani has deep ties to the Dees, but geez it'd be hard to pick them over us after watching that game today. This Melbourne list looks done and set for a rebuild very soon whereas we look like we're at the very start of a long period of success. How could you not want to join us now when your alternative option is Melbourne? I know we need another tall defender on our list (especially with Ballard's injury) and Kalani just so happens to play that position. Might be time for Dimma to have a chat to Kalani about his future.

Plenty of support.

Awesome to see so many of our supporters in Melbourne sticking around after the game and a big thumbs up to you Jen for not only going to the game but also sharing that with us. You've always been so giving with your knowledge and information about the Suns and we thank you for that. It would appear our Vic Army is growing and that will definitely become crucially important to us as we climb up the ladder over the next few years. Even the commentators were saying during the match that it was unfortunate that we only have one MCG game this year because we're definitely good enough to play on the hallowed turf more than once a year. I reckon there's a good chance we're going to be scheduled to play at the MCG multiple times next year.

The secret is out - we can play footy at a high level on any ground.

A Grade

Off topic but I have 4 of them in my keeper fantasy (not Touk) so happy days
Elite. Legitimately one of the best midfields in the league and it's only going to get stronger next year when we add in the likes of ZUwland, Addinsall and Murray. The future is sooooo bright for Gold Coast footy! If anyone is reading this and thinking about jumping on board the Suns, I highly recommend you do so now because this train ain't stopping!

He was copping a lot of feedback from over the fence in that last quarter. Thanks max gawn for winning the toss and kicking the way he did 🤣

And also they are both 19yo. ❤️💛
Notice read and Walter only played about 2/3 of the game whereas against wc read played 82%. Think this will help both of them get through a long season. King is currently looking really dangerous but at times we have the flexibility to rotate walter as the focal point. It gives us more options and there's always the sub also.
