Our achilles heel is our lack of quality tall defenders. Once you go past Murray our next best are C graders (at best). A tall defender must be one of the priorities on our October shopping list.
Sounds like we could do worse than trying to draft Dan Curtin's brother at years end (if we have a pick in the right range). Some on our board think he is looking like the real deal and a double edged bonus may be doing it if we did might further help our cause to have Dan on sign longer term

How yas feeling about the match up?
I recon your forward line will smoke our backline, but thinking the rest of the game should be evenly matched

It's hard to know what to make of things so far, to be honest. Our team looks good, but we've been largely allowed to do our own thing so far. Meanwhile it's hard to know where North are at, they've obviously improved a lot but how much?

Yeah very true it’s all over the place atm…..need another good month to see where people are at.
I’ve seen enough of you guys tho top 8 easy….where ya end up who knows

Burgess might have influence when it comes to a certain level of conditioning being required. No doubt he doesn't stop senior injured players being selected, that aspect hasn't changed.
Burgess has even said he wants players to push through injury.

I didn’t watch yesterdays game, I’m assuming Butts got through it ok.

Murray will miss next week. If it was a matter of Butts not being picked due to lack of conditioning, he’s likely to replace Borlase next week, especially with Gold Coasts big men up forward.

Next week will be interesting selection wise.

Playing up there and backing up 5 days later is a tough ask. Given Jordy didn't join main training until after the new year AND then had a hiccup in one of the trials, it's probably safe to assume it's a conditioning thing.

They brought him back too early last year and it backfired.

Possibly, but if we don’t select him whilst Murray is out…

Butts a C grader are you serious?

Port could sorely do with his services, way better than anything they've got apart from maybe new draftee Whitlock in time.

Depends how much time they think he needs, and how well Borlase does today.

Don't think you'd find many if any people who think James is a better player, not even our coaches.
I don’t think it’s a matter of them thinking Borlase is a better player. I think they want to play Keane as our premier KPD and won’t move him to the lesser role.

Isn't he a tall forward? I'm sure I saw he kicked 8 goals. It's a good plan though, although I doubt we will have the pick.

Given our window is open now we should be looking at trading in a quality, proven genuine tall defender.

He should be fast tracked back into the team asap. You are not going deep into finals when your key defensive pillars are Borlace and Keane.

He can play at either end and very well

Different type to Dan , he’s true key position and agrressive

Not as silky skilled

Butts hasn’t performed much better than C grade level. He looked very promising early but injuries and playing with them has negatively impacted his output.
