Is it just me or do we always seem to get Port after they've been belted the week before
Yep, smashed in the media. They’ll be breathing fire (else there is something wrong). I’m not feeling it at all this week. More hopeful v Giants. At least we have played at Norwood before!

The most we’ve lost to against port in the last 5 games is 13 points, I think we can win here they don’t have any tall forwards other then georgiadis who is shit house and their mids are all downhill skiing crabs, maccheeseburger to have 40 and 15 clearances and 6 goals
We make Georgiadis look like a Plugger and Carey mix.

Sounds obvious, but our attitude will swing this game by about 100 points.

If we go on thinking we're as good as we looked when we beat the absolute worst side in the league, we'll see a repeat of the pre-season match.

But if we roll up our sleeves and give it a proper go, I can see us murdering Port. We match up pretty well and they have only beaten Tigers at home (not too different from us I suppose) and lost to Collingwood and ahem, Essendon, their stars are a little off and it wouldn't take much to mess with their heads. They gave been crueler by injuries in the forward line too.

I'd love to see Stocker stick to JHF and annoy the shit out of him, while Windy sticks to Rozee and MacRaygun is covered by Wines. Webster should nullify Rioli and I'm hoping Sinclair gets Drew and Burgoyne gets Nas.

Definitely need to stay focussed and hard working but I think the Tigers look better than a few sides this year. Melbourne look like they are trying to outdo WC for poor form.

I really hope we rough JHF up!

Make his day hard and shit, and if he overcomes that - well played.

Just don’t make it easy for him.

Odds on he will sook it up!

Massive game for the club - the AFL world is sitting back starting to notice us (prob including players we are chasing), we get pumped, and a lot of good work is undone!

Last year they lost 73-152 to Brisbane the week before we played them. 2023 they beat WC 109-69. 2022 they beat WC 117-33. 2021 they beat Carlton 96-68 and lost to Melbourne 55-86. 2020 they beat Carlton 64-61. So yeah, it's just you (except for this year and last)

We have had two poor midfield efforts in the first quarters of two matches- Adelaide and Richmond. Adelaide exploited this, and Richmond were not good enough to go on with it. Don't know who is the line coach for our midfield, but maybe just get the boys extra motivated before they run on the field against PA.

We need Steele back and at his best.

Otherwise other than Macrae our midfield are all super young.

I think we need to move past the idea of prime 2020-2022 Steele returning. He's 29 now and hasn't been able to sustain that kind of form for any stretch of time over the past couple of years, and hasn't looked like it in his couple of games this season either. I think he's now just a solid honest cog in the midfield now, but hopefully Cray and Poo can be the main men for the next couple of years, with Steele/Windy/Garcia/Clark supporting.

Harvey is midfield coach. There were some odd results in the first couple of weeks so I’m not going to put too much weight on round one. Last week with Steele being withdrawn just before the game I think that might have unsettled the mids to a degree. Might have taken some time to adjust, especially with Garcia and Travaglia going through there.
Hopefully we’ll get a four quarter effort and find out where we are at.

He's been pretty ordinary lately. Not as worried about him. Rozee is probably more of a worry and Wines is also in the top 10 for possessions this year as well as CR.

Jase Burgoyne their third best this year and has come from the clouds.

One thing about Lyon is that he often doesn't show his cards early. He doesn't mind holding on to let the heat come out of the game and then surging.

Port Adelaide have only really beaten us one way lately - clearance dominance and quality. They and Brisbane beat us this way. So we need to be much, much better at breaking even at clearance and preventing conceding quality, front-of-stoppage clearance than we were last time out at Adelaide Oval. Otherwise, I suspect, nothing else really matters.
