The AFL mobile app is actually a really good tool for some review - head to the player's profile, select "Highlights", select a game, and then tab across to "Extended" to get clips of every single stat they registered. Gives you an avenue to review their impact.

Handball receive and dished off a handball at half back - fine, play continued up onto the wing.
Handball receive at HBF, dumped a kick to a contest and Hawthorn marked.
Loose ball gather, looped a forward handball to JSOS and sold him into trouble.
Loose ball gather, dumped a kick to a HF contest, Hawthorn got the ball.
Handball receive, banana kick into the corridor fell short of Motlop, Hawthorn gathered the ball.
Ground ball get in the centre after a TDK diving spoil, executed a 25m kick to an open Motlop, eventually resulted in a score.
Handball receive, dumped a kick to a contest, Carlton gather the ball.
Handball receive, dumped a kick to HF to Hawthorn's advantage, Hawthorn won the ball.
Handball receive in the open, dumped a kick to a 1v2 (Hawthorn's advantage) inside 50, Hawthorn won the ball.
Loose ball gather, forward handball to Fogarty in space.
Ground ball get in the F50, chipped a blind kick to the pocket to nobodies advantage. Repeat stoppage result.
Handball receive, dumped a kick to HF to Hawthorn's advantage. Repeat stoppage result.
Handball receive, kicked a ball 5m (yes...5m) for Motlop to run onto (running away from our goal...). Stoppage result.

Setting the intensity is a load of crock. He had 4 disposals that were genuinely directed to a teammate. 3 of them were handballs, one of those was a hospital handball. His one genuinely effective kick was a 25m pass to Motlop who had nobody within 15m of him.

Not saying he was our worst in that game, but I can tell you now he wasn't far off it.
Thanks for posting.

I've been shocked at how poorly Docherty has been playing, but should I be? The bloke is coming back off ( another ACL) and is now officially in the old side of the ledger - the best case is that he regains some semblance of touch - because the signs are that he has the fumbles going on big time - knows where he should be and gets there- but everything is slow and clunky when it comes to execution. I stopped playing grade cricket as an opening bat not because I was getting out- I could see ball - but no matter how much I tried I was always a fraction slow to score against the quicks when the ball was pitched just short of a good length.

On another note- we need McGovern/Haynes to start playing some sort of AFL quality football especially contributing to rebound those two along with Walsh have been badly out of form and stinking it up.

0-3 is fugly but there are a lot of good things going on - fix the disposal efficiency and conversion % will pay big rewards and turn things around - which is why Harry and E Hollands absences have really stung and hurt the side.

They will still be quicker then us!
Their team in paper looks very strong - interesting to see if those names translate to a better performance as a team.

It’s also round 4 - can they keep the oldest team ever,on the park for the next 24 weeks?

They are all in at least - we aren’t for some reason.

For us it all comes down to the battle.

Win the contest & hopefully maximise up forward, defend the ground.

If we win this one, it will be a game to remember.

I'm sick of this mob always laughing at us and beating us. Show some fight and show some pride Carlton and win, which i think we will actually.

I don't think it would be a corner/tide turner as such but i feel we're due a big performance, and hopefully the Pies might be complacent.

Of course the same effort really should be there every week irrespective of who the oppo are.

Feels like I already know how this plays out.

We'll be competitive in the first half, we may even lead. We'll actually look like a competent football side at times.

Then we'll come out after HT, the Pies will put their foot down and we'll look around wondering what just happened, as they cruise to a 4-5 goal win.

Then to top it off, Vossy will come out and say he's proud of the effort and that there's just a few moments that didn't go our way.

Best case scenario in my book is we're 1-2 goals down at 3QT.

If we're ahead, Collingwood will come hard and we'll panic and capitulate as usual. If we're a mile behind, they'll show enough discipline to run down the clock and deny us a sniff. If we're just behind then hopefully the players fire up and put together a proper 4th quarter surge.

Taking you back to 2008.
We started the season 0-3.
We came up against Collingwood who'd started the year 2-1.
Carlton were the clear underdogs in the game.
However a rampant Brendan Fevola kicked 7 goals to catapult Carlton to a 23 point victory.
I think we see something similar tomorrow night.
Blues by 16
Curnow 6 goals
Go Baggers!

Enjoy this throwback
What a lovely sunny afternoon at the G that was, prime Fev. Was right behind him when he wrongfooted whoever it was (Presti maybe, or Brown) and slotted that goal. Maybe we can get a Charlie night in the same vien today, please:)

Can’t let them rebound easily and cut us up if we turn it over going forward. We have sucked with transition of the ball off half back all season so far. Particularly in the second half where we have fallen off. If we don’t want to work both ways, Houston and the like will cut us open I feel. We win the ball but can’t use it efficiently either. Hopefully it’s a different story tonight.

i'm not expecting much, our system is a rabble, we have several players playing who are obviously suspect injury and fitness wise and the team cannot run out games. A win would be lovely but we need to find a way to win consistently and not the once every few weeks answering to pressure type wins. if you are thinking I'm pissed off and frustrated, you would be right.

everyone is so negative... i'm backing us for a decent win (margin wise).

Don't rate their back line (D. Moore....), most of their mids are old as, forward line a patchwork...need to stifle supply to their smalls.

Yep, they're well drilled.

We just need to cut out a lot of our horrible errors....

I like the changes (dare I say start of rebuild/refresh?)

White will add some leg speed and energy. We need his type. Great kid
Lord is a beauty. Will not let us down and just needs to play
Moir needs to keep building tank and work on defence but a rare player that can turn a game in 5 minutes. We have trouble kicking "easy" goals so he can help in this area

Hope to see Carroll Wilson Ben Campo & Lucas again soon. I don't get Boyd dropping? Late in for Williams is word

I don't rate Pies as high as Hawks or Bulldogs so we are a real chance IMO. They are older and not quick either so perfect match up for us.

This is a game we can and must win. Need 4 quarters of pro active football and to stop going into shell. Do that and we win

Fingers crossed

The doc thing is an interesting one I know he is well loved and respected.

Big believer he shouldn't be in the side.
Think there will be alot of interest as to how long he keeps his spot if this form persists, I can't think of a single thing he has done this year thats of a postive nature. Really not into dumping on players but he was good cause he was often an 80m player, good running, long accurate kick but those are not there now it would seem.....
