We aim at him enough, it’s just our aim & execution are miles apart……We targeted him twice in the first quarter for 1.1
About 4 times in the second half
Nothing to do with his positioning

He’s just not a defender.But can't stick a tackle...or break one (Hollands)
He’ll be 20 in a week. If his current level of cardio vascular fitness can’t get him past a quarter as we’ve seen with other players in the same boat at his age it’s quite rare for it to improve considerably beyond maybe half a game.
Wish his 'trying too hard' would be putting a hit on when it's laid out in front of him.Doc looks like the game has passed him by, just doesn't have the touch and feel of the game anymore, routinely makes poor decisions, it's almost like he is trying to compensate and tries too hard and isn't handling the heat. He needs a spell in the 2s to get some form and confidence.

1 goal a game - who else do we have giving that to us ATM.Look at his goals in 2024 - he averaged pretty much 1 goal/game against non-bottom 4 sides. If he was giving us other things in the areas I mentioned I wouldn't mind but he didn't.
In recent times?I said I wouldn’t be shocked if Harry retires. We’ve seen plenty of players do it.
And from past history how we’ve dealt with problem players, Elijah may not be done as a footballer but in recent times we’re more inclined to let them go.
And then there are critical moments which impact momentum & deflate the team also……Josh Daicos had 31 @ 74% and 4 score involvements
Acres 30 @ 56% and 2 si
Doc 27 @ 63% and 2 si
So there are some measures that say our wings didn't outplay theirs.
Wait till Pitto is fit again.Kane Cornes & David King on SEN this morning mentioned we are too tall, and its hard to argue against this.
Being 'not proud' or disappointed means SFA when he still has no answers as to why the 3rd quarter happened...again.. Our issue is not personal, its an inability to react when the opposition take away our strengths.. Voss and the coaches set the game up well hence our first half leads, but during the game when the oppo coach reacts we are a deer in headlights with no ability to counter.
What?He kicked CLUTCH goals in tight games constantly.
6 times in a game is not targeting him enoughWe aim at him enough, it’s just our aim & execution are miles apart……
I mean, there was some effort to lower the eyes. I don't know if that's a gameplan, or just a given in football.Weren't Sydney losing a few years ago while trying to embed a new game plan? Then all of a sudden it clicked.
I think we can see what they are trying to do. There was a concerted effort to lower the eyes today. The problem is that it only takes a weak link for it to fall down.
It's going to look ugly until it doesn't.
Dunno, I thought there were signs that were promising. Yes the problems exist but are not insurmountable.

Yeah agreeI mean, there was some effort to lower the eyes. I don't know if that's a gameplan, or just a given in football.
I was probably most disheartened by last night of all four...even Rd1. Composure, effort and execution were all miles off for mine.
dropping the three of them would be a good start....He pulled out of at least 3 contests, one that cost us a goal in the 3rd quarter when they made their move. Even had the gall to tell Ollie off for not being closer to Schultz even though Doc was in a far better position to impact the contest. He cannot stick a tackle at all. He is playing very selfish football. He is certainly no orphan as a few others, McGovern and Williams most notably, have been as bad if not worse. IMO we need to move past all 3 asap. Unfortunately that won’t happen until the end of the year because we don’t have any ready made replacements and injuries (once again) are taking their toll. It’s hard to see any of those blokes being dropped for the next game especially after Cowan did his hammy.
Spot on!Surely this game should indicate to the MC that our game plan is not suited to the current game and change is needed.
Wet weather where contested footy is king and we were still beaten in clearances, let alone general play.
The Hawthorn/Adelaide run/spread to make the ground seem big with the ball (there's been some footage that show how these teams spread with the ball and most of the work is done by players without the ball running into 'dead' space to draw opposition and then cut into dangerous space if their opponents zone off) then apply pressure with quick, agile players without the ball and use a team defence mentality is now the blueprint.
IMO, our game plan and tactics are just old and not the blueprint for success in the current era of footy.
I have noticed there is a concerted effort to look for the right option entering forward 50 and not just blaze away.I mean, there was some effort to lower the eyes. I don't know if that's a gameplan, or just a given in football.

Freudian slip there Lily?Problem is we are trying to pin point to a player and the margin for error is infantisimal, our set up for the forwards is so bad we can never get good separation.
You're wrong - he kicked clutch set shots repeatedly. What?
Like that clutch running into an open goal to finish off the Crows? Oh wait.
What about the clutch 20 meter chip to Saad all by himself to seal the Melbourne game and make the finals for the first time in a decade?
Owies kicked some goals, but he was not a clutch player.
Stunk it up in our first 2 finals too, which is why he got dropped for the prelim.

Voss is that you?He had 27 touches playing off the wing @ 63% efficiency in tough conditions, gained 670+ meters (highest on the ground) and was the third highest ranked player on the ground overall, so yeah, he had a good game.
