The melts will be funny
Yeah they would be. But to be fair it’s pretty ridiculous. They changed the rule for a very small amount of time and in that time the Dees missed out on a top five prospect. I’d be annoyed as well. Oh well.

There were a few that missed out on top 10 picks but yes Mac Andrew would make a huge difference to Melbourne's forward line.
It's funny Essendon we're one of the most vocal about us getting Jamarra but were quick to flip once they had some good NGA kids lined up, they have a couple more small forwards one of whom could go around 20 this year.

AFL cut the NGA program after we benefited too much from it. Saints and Dees missed out on top NGA kids, fine. Essendon looked set to miss out, gotta revert all the changes.

Lukas Eagleton playing for Scotch OC in the Adelaide Football League this season

Haven't been able to find if he made any under 18s SANFL team

Hopefully shows enough to be rookied at least. Would love a Eagleton on the list.

Our key forward NGA Hok next year might annoy some opposition supporters too
Hok, Cooney and West look the most likely next year at this stage. I think Eagleton is tracking as a rookie pick at best at this stage.
Hopefully Williams chooses us this year, he'd slot in nicely at half back.

Yeah... next year will be amusing.

I think we have a few others in subsequent years leading up to Tasmania which is handy

Haven’t been following NGA closely. Are you able share some insight on Hok?

South Sudanese heritage from St Albans. Measured at 191cm at the start of the year but I think still has alot of growth in him.
Hok Marial is his full name I've only ever seen him play as a key forward but heard that he will/has played time as an interceptor aswell recently. His upside is insane and although veer early given he is 2026 eligible I'd happily trade out next years first now in anticipation.

Would be nice to have our own version of Hokball

Thanks mate. Obviously early days but is there a current player he could be compared to stylistically?

He played for the Jets as a defender last week for 14 touches and 6 marks. Not bad as a 16 year old.
Not sure about comparisons at this stage but he has said he idolises CJ Jiath as a fellow Sudanese footballer, he is already 6cm taller then CJ though. Without trying to stereotype if he can grow another 7 odd centimetres over the next 2 years he'd close to a Mac Andrew and hopefully just as capable forward and back.
