Surprised at the suggestion of dropping Whitlock after his first game.

While he never starred - he was far from terrible.

If they do drop him, which is entirely possible, what was the thinking before last week?

He only stayed in if he completely nailed the game? How many debutants do that?

If the answer is he was only stop gap as Arch was returning, pretty odd thing to do to a first gamer.

Hardeman might have made more sense if that was the plan.

Good news is that if Whitlock, Hardeman, Archer and FOS all play, then some chronically underperforming senior players have to be dropped.

We won’t drop more than 4 players. Just won’t happen. Even 4 is fanciful.

So if I can only bring in 4

Archer for Whitlock
Philips for RHJ
Wardlaw for Tucker
FOS for Scott.

At least those 4 will tackle and hunt.

Don’t think wardlaw gets up this week for a full game. Good Friday game should be his return afl game

Replace him with teakle to give us the second ruck third tall and you have the ideal team

I mean, there's a pattern with this now, isn't there. Bergman wasn't ready. Wawson wasn't ready. Hansen wasn't ready. Whitlock has the body of a giraffe, it's weird to bring him in even just considering that. I'm probably missing a couple from that 2020-22 era too. Our selectors are certainly not cut from the Geelong cloth, that's for sure

Whitlock should never have been selected because now if he is dropped, what kind of message does that send? That is a massive selection blunder.

That's why I think he'll get another game after an adjustment game like the others did last year as a taste, then back to the VFL after finding what the level is.

That would show flexibility and forethought, two things our coaches aren’t interested in.

I think the kid will be a 50/50 to make it as a player at best, i put him in the Comben territory.. the worst thing we can do is damage his confidence

Whitlock showed nothing. He’s too raw. Cant play. You think Camry Crows have a good forward line, fold coast are on equal level.

Zurhaar must be dropped. That 100% must happen. He’s had 2 x stinkers in a row. Must go. Enough of protecting players and Duursma with one shoulder is beyond Zurhaar, throw cam on the smoker, he’s done. He can go season up in the magoos. 3 week drop is fair.

Darling is cooked. Must be replaced.

Does anyone reckon Geordie Payne could offer less than RHJ if given a shot ? i see he has layed 15 tackles and kicked 4 or 5 goals in 3 games, compared to zero goals and 2 tackles in 4 games for RHJ ? interrupted pre season i think, so still working on his tank

He’s coming along. I think there is a place for konstanty and payne to co exist but the squeeze to get him in is a challenge.

In my best team on paper, Jy would be the small forward. Jordie Shore has a place as depth at the moment. He’s going okay, good progress

mate, I know we all want these boys to do well, but don't let's get too carried away - the longer the game went on, the more he found the pressure hard to cope with: 5 clangers at 50% KE

There's a reason he was subbed out, and fair enough too - any more blues and it was going to be a topic on its own, and that would be no good to him or the club
