Iāll thought Henry competed pretty hard in the air, people need to realise Danger has taken his preferred position and he is struggling to adapt.
Maybe it is worth trying Wiltshire as a different look at some stage but I think Henry has a role. 4 goals in a Prelim is worth something to me.

Mark O'Connor was solid again. I'm feeling more confident when he has the ball.

Overly critical. We just had a superb win and OH going back to VFL will teach him nothing abouit getting used to playing in a forward line with Danger there. Give him time and enjoy the win.,
1. Rhys Stanley- He had a pretty anonymous game, but is moving freely and causing headaches for the oppo when he runs forward of centre. I cannot overstate how important it is for him to be holding the fort now while we wait for one of Edwards, Conway, or Pike to emerge.
3. Bailey Smith- with 35 touches and a goal, arguably BOG tonight. I reckon he's developed a bit of inside grunt to go with his outside creativity that he didn't have at the Doggos. With no Stewart or Henry, against Adelaide's hulking forward line, we needed someone to accumulate and create just to stop them slingshotting it inside 50 again and again, and he delivered 100%.
5. Jeremy Cameron- Hardly sighted in the 1st half, matchwinner in the 2nd. He does one-of-a-kind things, and even when he's a bit subdues the mere threat of it makes things happen around him.
7. Shaun Mannagh- I think this is one he'd like to forget. Fumbly, no idea where to handball to, and hardly got near the footy. But he'll be better for the run.
9. Max Holmes- Had him as BOG, just quietly. He finally worked out how to beat a tag. With 32 touches and a huuuuge goal, not to mention a lot of drive through half back. He was probably our best in the 1st half when we were under siege.
10. Mitch Knevitt- Quiet night, but I thought he did a few nice things in the 2nd quarter just as we were working our way back into the game. Having another big guy in the midfield who can also compete in the air. His disposal is OK too, just needs to get more of the ball.
12. Jack Bowes- He kicked an important goal just as we were starting to get on top, but aside from that was hardly sighted. Hard to tell on TV, but I think he does a lot of unrewarded positional running.
14. Connor O'Sullivan- He wasn't quite as dazzling this week, but against Adelaide's numerous talls he was always going to have a tougher time. Much better at ground level than a guy his size has any right to be.
16. Sam De Koning- Purely defensive tonight, no pushing up into the ruck at all or brief spells running through the midfield. I thought he broke even all night, one of only a handful who could claim that in the 1st half.
17. Lawson Humphries- He's played 16 career games. Yes, you read that right. It hardly seems possible for someone with so little experience to play with the wisdom and level head of a 300 gamer. The only other blokes I can think of who have not only made themselves undroppable but integral parts of the team after so few games are Joel Selwood and Blitz.
18. Tyson Stengle- I don't know. He looks out of sorts at the moment, like he's carrying a bit of a niggle. He might be due a rest. Very quiet.
28. Ollie Dempsey- He produced more turnovers than a pastry shop in the 1st half, but credit where it's due he worked his way back into the game. And that was 100% a mark.
30. Tom Atkins- Tonight he played like a cross between Joel Selwood and Tom Atkins, which is possibly the highest praise I can bestow. Clearance machine, sure disposal, played with cold fury and never let the steam come out of his ears even when the umps were pinging him for some really really stupid bullshit.
32. Gryan Miers- No good. He seemed timid, indecisive and like Stengle a bit out of sorts.
33. Shannon Neale- Just needs to get more involved. At his best, he can clunk marks, is faster than he looks at ground level, and can often somehow manage to get enough of a hand on running defenders who look miles in the clear to affect the kick.
34. Oisin Mullin- Unfortunately didn't back up his very good game last week. Shaky disposal, hardly got the ball, and at times looked like had no idea what he was doing. At this point of his development a "two good games, one stinker" pattern is to be expected.
35. Patrick Dangerfield- It's insane to think that a 35yo midfield dynamo would be leading our goalkicking, but here we are. I don't know how he can keep this level of play up.
36. Ollie Henry- Definite signs of improvement. I think I even saw him attack the ball at ground level. His gigashank in the 2nd quarter was the funniest moment of the night, and did set up Dempsey's first.
39. Zach Guthrie- Might we have found our next captain? Without Stewart, Kolo, or JHenry he was left to marshall a very patchy and inexperienced backline and he ran the show with aplomb.
40. Ted Clohesy- Only played half a quarter coming on as the sub, but I saw him bob up on the wing, the back pocket, and inside F50. I suppose Scott must have been using his fresh legs and gut running to just track the ball all over the field. Looked lively.
42. Mark O'Connor- Anyone who wants Merrick dropped is out of their gourd. He didn't look like he was doing much, but especially in the 2nd half just knew where to be to save the day. Doesn't waste possessions, doesn't shirk a contest, doesn't give away free kicks, and provides some grunt around the contest.
45. Brad Close- Hardly seen, but hit the scoreboard at least. And that kick to Cameron in the last quarter was one for the highlight reel.
46. Mark Blicavs- Not his best game, probably still feeling the effects of illness. Did keep Tex quiet after 1/2 time, and produced the best kick of the day, a left-footed 55m bullet straight onto Stengle's chest inside 50.

Always difficult to beat any team west of Victoria in the AFL, no matter where they sit on the ladder.
And the Crows had been in tip top form.
And it's Gather Round (which is really cool btw); the South Australian Aussie Rules Footy showpiece event.

We played well early - very well considering the caliber of our opponent - and yet things were on the edge of getting very ugly very quickly - more than once.
We kept throwing punches, our forward line looked efficient and potent early on the back of some hardcore forward pressure - but Adelaide looked capable of overwhelming our midfield and our backline at any moment.
But we took their best punches, stayed upright and found our feet. Adelaide, who, to be fair were off a 5-day break, were worn down as we ''cut them in half'' as Tom Atkins so eloquently put it - we ran straight through them in tight.
Just watching Chris Scott talking about Connor O'Sullivan's running capacity - it was gut-bustingly obvious tonight.
He was everywhere, getting in very, very late spoils on multiple occasions. O'Sullivan looked absolutely knackered at one point in the 3rd quarter, and yet there he was 10 minutes into the final quarter, covering for others, running from contest to contest. Amazing.
Mark O'Connor has hit a rich vein of Cameron Ling-esque form; taking the hits, bottling up the loose ball when no obvious option presents itself; taking a Mile when opponents least expect it.
Gryan Miers amazes me too. There was a time 5ish years ago when I had doubts as to his ability to stand up to physical pressure in big games. This is why I am a shite judge of footballers. He renders such arguments irrelevant. Clever as always tonight; had some stressful moments no doubt, but reached into his deep bag of footballing tricks to get himself out of trouble.

I find myself marking Max Holmes very harshly - I rate him so highly.
32 touches in a red hot game is a great return, and yet I reckon he could have played better.
I rate him highly; I judge him harshly. Tackled well tonight, it's a strong string to his bow.

And slogs off the ground. Close is a master at it, and smith good too. When it's tight like 2 on 1, I can never understand why they don't kick it off the ground. tonight they did, and denied Croms ball.
I think Henry just needs to compete. He's such a good mark. The frustration comes when he stays down, or tried to outbid and fails.
He needs to fly for everything.

With Danger spending a good amount of time forward we might be better setup-wise playing Wiltshire instead of Ollie Henry.
We don't need Ollie, Danger, Neale and Cameron playing inside the same f50.

Mmm I'm more positive about our side than most, but even I am at my wits end with Henry. Especially when you have Wiltshire absolutely smashing on the door to get in the side.
No-one should just be guaranteed their spot, based on past performance. He's not earning it right now, and there's no part of his game I can point to that is beneficial to the team. It's really hard to watch.
I am ecstatic about this win btw, and wrote a long post celebrating all our players bar 1, but it's a significant issue when his defender is rebounding off him, and he's offering nothing offensively. Again, at least Neale had some really important moments tonight, and a stellar goal at an important time. Ollie has had nothing since Round 1, and he's getting worse by the week.
We'll see if he can get through this, but I just don't see a spot in the team for him right now.

I suspect it is one of those things you have to give players permission to do.
