Review Cats stone Crows with 19 point win

To start the match commentators were saying thilthorpe is the best player in the league. Connor has played 6 games. What a get.
COS was ridiculous.
He was so gassed at the end but he kept going. And he did it against blokes much stronger and physically dominant to him.

He’s got Matty Egan and HT levels of skill and excitement to him with Blitz type running

I could think of another c word actually. :winkv1:

He tried to intimidate Knevitt on the ground after a tackle. Big brother Zuthrie right on the case. Our boy has grown up. :laughv1:
I've disliked the guy since he hurt Lonergan by pushing him in the back into a marking contest he was never going to make himself. Had to leave the game because of that cheap shot. He kind of had a surprised look on his face when Zuthrie went after him. :laughv1:
Yup.. that cannonballinng and concussing Domsy sealed his w***ership for me.. and he’s been confirming that ever since.
And flogged it up some more last night
Go Catters

11 day break will be handy.
Stanley, COS, Atkins.. all well earned long break and they are gonna need it
PFD too - and they all gonna other to lift as it’s a long season and they can’t be expected to keep this up
Go Catters

It's going to make waking up at 4.30 much more bearable. Still wide awake so it's still going to be a struggle
****ing tell me about it LOL

Missed the second half as I had to be up at 2:30 this morning for work, but have just caught up on it. What a ****ing win that was! We were missing three of our best defenders, but our ability to go next man up is a testament to the ethos and culture of this club. That was a complete team performance with every player contributing at some point, even if their overall games were quiet, and that's what we need to succeed, and when it happens, we usually win.

Danger has moved on from Joel's shadow as skipper. He's leading this group in a brutally different way. Epic captain's game from him.

Jez might have finally arrived for season 2025. That clutch set shot on HT could well be the turning point for his season.

Tom Atkins first five weeks have been the best of his career. His partnership with Baz (who is going to be an absolute steal) has been a joy to watch. Two totally different players and personalities, but they got us going, particularly in the second half.

SDK is a defender. Let's not go trying to turn him into something he isn't. We look much better with him down back and Rhys in the ruck. There'll be some management of Rhys no doubt, but as has been the case for most of his 11 years at the club, we look so much better with #1 as the #1 ruck.

Over the moon with that win! Enjoy the long break to Easter Monday boys, you deserve it!

(any idea why Richmond fans are so conpiratorial)

Another thing I like about this win is the meltdown Josh Worrell has when Danger puts us 3 goals up, losing his rag at Hinge.

Can we photoshop him with a tub of KFC under his arm throwing nuggs around?

Hinge tried to play a bit of a tough guy role when they were on top. That's just great, but when you're not actually tough and can't actually handle the heat when it's applied back on you, it backfires rather dismally and you just end up looking like the soft potato of a player you actually are.

He made a mistake... im a indigenous man myself.. ( please im not saying you are )
Tex has done very good stuff for many sick kids in hospitals. His a very good human, he said a silly thing . But his not a racist man...
I dunno about him not being racist but man he's got like 5 brain cells

Ill be a broken record again.. But playing Stanley in the ruck and playing SDK IN DEFENCE WHERE HE PLAYS HIS BEST FOOTBALL AND LOOKS SO MORE COMFORTABLE IN DEFENCE... Honestly..... Stanley is our best ruckman currently in our team ( that's if Conway is not fit )
Let's hope Stanley body holds up till Conway gets back into our team

Smith surprised me tonight. Racked up the possessions (no pun intended), but he has been doing that most games. What surprised me was the burst out of stoppage. I don’t think we have seen that in Geelong colours before. Maybe he is getting more confident in his knee? If that is a thing that stays in his game, he has far more upside than I imagined. Very good signs.

Can we all please agree that fit Stanley is our best ruckman by a mile. Nurse him through the season to keep him fresh (and his knee in functioning order) and then let him go from August onwards.

A tale of two halves, really. I thought we were gone when the Crows got 30 points in front. But credit to the Cats for hanging in there and tightening up their defensive pressure in the second half, which made it hard for the Crows to move the ball as easily as they did in the first half. Have to give a lot of credit to Atkins, especially in that last quarter. His tackling and bullocking were off the charts, and none of the professional commentators acknowledged him. Loved Paddy's performance down forward, and our midfield showed some real grunt. It's nice to be on the other side of one of these types of wins for a change, rather than being the side that gets a big early lead and then gets chased down.

If fans want to dish it out, then don't cry when it comes back at you.

The crows fans were pretty feral last night. Relentless all night - every decision by the umps that went our way resulted in heckling and booing. Apparently the umps got every decision wrong! Every perceived free, that they thought the umps missed-they went to town. Dangerfield got booed a lot from the start, and really, whilst it’s a bit of theatre, it’s nearly 10 years now - get over it willya. And heaps did not stay till the end of the game -it was very collingwoodesque. Bailey is feisty on the field I noticed last night- something I hadn’t realised before and those fans were no doubt giving danger heaps then. Smith will probably get a fine and he earned it, but good on him.
After the game, the crows fans calmed down and were very nice of course. A couple of them said good luck etc. Its a beautiful ground, great views, good chips, easy to get to and fun place to watch a game of footy. Had a great time.

Very good win cats. Fought hard, lovely skills, worked hard, amazing pressure. Was a pleasure to watch. Everyone put in, and kept it up for the whole game. Was impressive. Crows tired a bit after the short turnaround but that doesn’t detract much from how well we played. Go cats. Enjoy your little break.

Leigh Colbert said the booing motivated him

Probably had the same effect for Danger

Is it a good look? No

But players aren’t robots and the emotions after a win like that would be running very high, still I think the club will have a quiet word with him but personally I agree you can’t expect to abuse people and not have a bit of that thrown back at you.

What a great win, I felt very much in hostile territory being at the ground and it was nice to see the crows fans leave with a few minutes left so everyone else could enjoy it

Have seen everyone point out who stood up for us
Shout out to Mannagh who was another that really turned it around in the 2nd half

Gotta laugh. Looked at 16 out of 17 club boards, and there is a spectrum ranging from praise to begrudging acceptance of our good play and win.

Guess which team board is the odd one out, and can only talk about conspiracy theories, umpiring, our cheating, and how hard done by they are as a club. I'll give you a hint, they like to finish 9th a lot :)
That thread is dead set comedy gold and well worth reading.

They were crowing and gloating like muppets in the first half, then turned into toddler tantrums and ranting conspiracies as we started dominating.

Smith will probably get a fine
Will he though? At what point does the match end in terms of being able to be reported? On the exit ramp? In the change rooms? On the team bus?
