Obvious option if you're dumb.Cox was cramping a lot during the game, I had a funny feeling he was going to get injured. I don't know if his body has the durability to go in the ruck, he still seems a bit raw from last year
Realistically the obvious option is we are going to go with Reidy this week and hope Jackson is good to go next week

Sorry Tay, I can't tell if you're joking or not.I don't think we need an extra tall if it's wet and I think Dudley could contest in the ruck if given the chance. I saw his effort against English to make a contest of it, he won't walk off the park wondering if he could have put more in.
Can’t rest anyone, especially since only 5 rounds in. Melbourne are still ripe for a win.do we consider resting any players?
Ryan especially, but a number of players could be sore.
Need to keep our tall back line in place for Adelaide, so we need to find a end ruck from somewhere else.
Adelaide worries me, with Thilthorp, Fogarty, and Walker.
The later two are dead eye dicks, so you can't give them space
Treacy kicked 6 goals. There’s no way you’d consider him in ruck, with Amiss in shocking form.Darcy and Reidy can't play together can they? Rather bring O Mac in and throw Cox up the ground and have him and Treacy give the odd chop out in the ruck.
Dudley to ruck
Some doubt on the availability for both May and Pickett:

If neither can get up, they're ripe for the picking. Have to go in brutal and make it count, have had their ticket the last season or so, especially at the G.
Opportunity knocketh!
Sorry Tay, I can't tell if you're joking or not.
HA!I don't want to play Dudley in the ruck, but if he found himself having to do it for some stupid reason, he would put up a contest, probably running and jumping right into the rib cage of the opponent and giving away the free kick - but the opponent won't be the same for the rest of the game.
You can only beat what's in front of you, one week at a time. It's not our fault that's the fixture list, I didn't think Melbourne would be THIS bad at start of the season; still,.....no ball has been bounced for Round 6 yet. You under-estimate no one and you focus on the job, one game at a time. When we beat the Toast it was just fortunate timing the Derby was the next round off 2 painful and embarrassing losses, with everyone questioning the direction of the club. So the task was to really just get a win and a good one if possible. Since then the Dockers have lifted without being brilliant. I'd rather that: the emerging of the butterfly from the cocoon over time, whilst still picking up the wins than being 5-0 and then fading badly as the season closes. So much is still left to emerge, so let's all pace ourselves - criticisms and praise included.Rough timing for them, could take some pressure off them though.
We need to attack and match them at the contest this week. It will help us prepare for the following 6 rounds. I am high on our ability to finish well into the 8, however, of our two wins only the dogs are a decent team this season. It will be good to take their best in the contest for a quarter and a half and then blow them away.
Don't see the need to risk this as Pearce is building into nice form, got to keep him on the park at all costs. Typical Warrior-Pearce type form - one of the league's best KPDs. Draper did a serviceable cameo late in the 4th, he'll maybe be the one they turn to hereCan Pearce ruck?
Or too fragile?
Can't see the ball getting down that end much and Draper will be there to cover his absence.
Would only be from time to time when Swaggy needs a spell.
Yeah I realised after I posted it that the risk of Draper covering for Pearce in the ruck could be nullified by just playing Draper there.Don't see the need to risk this as Pearce is building into nice form, got to keep him on the park at all costs. I think the 3 key back (+ Ryan) structure uniquely works with a type like Draper. You swap that with someone significantly less athletic and it probably falls apart.Draper apparently training in the ruck this week.
So Draper forward and McDonald in could be the change.
Shouldn't have quit the gang, big nose. Can the mods do their job and ban people wanting Reidy to play with Darcy.
Tonga Bob Van_Dyke DragoDelph where are you in our moment of need
no harm taken bud, we see a squad emerging with versatile roles there to assist when things unpredictable happen. But I think Draper probably with younger knees, a slightly better or more mobile set of traits means we mitigate any risk on Pearce doing a role that isn't necessary and then getting injured because of the load or something avoidable.Yeah I realised after I posted it that the risk of Draper covering for Pearce in the ruck could be nullified by just playing Draper there.
As I said it would only be from time to time so no harm done.
