Clearly those trips to LA to study a completely different sport haven't improved his coaching. Other coaches were home devising modern and proactive tactics for the season ahead while Alaistair was courtside in shithole USA.
ah yes but you moaning indiscriminately about his coaching in every single thread on this forum is gonna make us play better on Friday right?

2.5 years not enough time to implement a defensive structure. I like him and hope he succeeds but he's not earning his money at the moment and his tactics are even making people like Rawlings look worse.

Yes. Just like there was no consequence against Hardwick when he did it last year.

And just like there was no consequence against Clarkson last year when he (supposedly) swore at the umpires on the boundary line.

And if there was a consequence, it would be a monetary fine and wouldn't trigger his two game suspended sentence because such an outburst would not be covered under rule 2.3(a).

Whatever you reckon.

Whatever you reckon.

Well, it's not a "reckon" situation. It's based on established rules and bylaws of the sport.

Clarkson was sanctioned under a specific rule. The suspended sentence can only be invoked if he breaches that specific rule.

The examples you cited, and the example of Clarkson's supposed stoush with the umipres on the sideline last year are entirely separate to the specific rule in question relevant to his suspended sentence.

So... yeah.

No they aren't and as usual you're not worth listening to.

You are clearly saying that a coach verbally abusing the umpires from the sidelines would not be considered conduct unbecoming by the AFL.

Did you intend to say that?

That exact scenario happened! Last year!

Clarkson was not penalised.
That thing doesn't say what you think it says.

It says the league is going to investigate whether or not he directed what he said at an individual official, which is a key part of the concept of abuse. For example if I posted "You are a moronic cretin who can't comprehend what they are reading Chad!" in response to your post I'm quoting now that would be considered abuse. Because it was directed at you.

If however i just posted "Moronic cretins can comprehend what they are reading!!!" at some point then it couldn't be because there is no specific individual that post is directed at.

And that is the difference the AFL investigated wrt Clarkson swearing.

Clarkson admitted during the AFL Integrity Unit's investigation that he had sworn loudly and used inappropriate language in response to an umpiring decision during the third quarter while standing near the umpires' and officials' bench.

However after talking to match officials, the AFL was not satisfied Clarkson's outburst was directed towards a specific person or match official, and therefore found no breach of AFL rules.

They didn't find that he had breached any rules or laws. So there was no charge he had to answer.

You seem to be claiming the AFL found he had breached rules and didn't suffer any sanction.

Probably should focus on winning some ****ing games rather than putting out this dross. (Yea I know the media department has no impact on the on field side of things.).

This shit is seriously tone deaf.

More abuse from fans as the players come down the race?

Players and supporters are very nice, forgiving people.

Not abuse, constructive stuff. Be constructive without heading for the ditch and being abusive. I don’t know how. While sternly looking, silently hand envelopes with our suggestions within to the players as they come up the race?

Watching Horse and Simmo on 360 now dissect the game with strategy and tactics, with Whateley and Lyon hanging off their every word.... **** me, bring them home.
Whateley and Lyon would be the pits as dinner guests. One would steal your thesaurus, and the other ask for your ride on lawnmower for the pleasure of his company.

It is the best segment of any afl show. They are killing it. I would like to see them do a full objective player/coaching/administration review of the roos. It would be invaluable.

100% I don’t think Longmire will coach again, seem to remember him saying he wanted to retire to the farm when he was finished at Sydney. But Simmo isn’t done yet, absolutely should be our next coach.

if it all goes **** up with Clarko this year, I wouldn't be against Simmo having a crack.

There could be a few clubs in the market for coaches next year.
